Just gotta keep plugging away at it (Tara)

Age 29
Pregnancies 3
Births 1 Cesarean
5 months PP

This is a great site, I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s stories and seeing pictures of other women PP and their beautiful babies. I have a 5 month old son, he was born by cesarean. I am still trying to get used to the scar, it is red and ugly but thankfully it is low enough that nobody but me and my husband will see it. I am about 10 pounds away from my prepregnancy weight. I am finding that every pound has been a struggle to get rid of. I am breast feeding and it has still been hard. To those women who say the weight just melted right off of them from breastfeeding I am jealous because I have had to diet and exercise hard to lose every single pound so far. I don’t mean to complain, I am grateful that I have my son and that I was able to have a successful pregnancy. I am hoping to have another child in the next year or so all going well.

The following pictures are of me at 37 weeks pregnant, me 5 months PP and my son at 4 1/2 months.

You look amazing for only 5 months PP! I know it is cliche but it took 9 months, so give it 9 months to get back to “normal”. I had a hard time with my first, but it happened, slowly but surely! :) Your son is so adorable

You look amazing!!! You’re JUST FIVE MONTHS postpartum??? I’m one of those people who you mentioned about weight melting off from breastfeeding, but honestly it took a whole year to a year and a half! Five months is a drop in the bucket, honey. :) You look FAB! And what a beautiful baby boy!

I’m one of those breastfeeding moms who’s weight just “melted” but dont be jealous… my body LOOKS like it melted! Keep it up! It’s great for your son and that amazing bond… by the way he is soooo adorable!!! I think you look fantastic! Your skin is so smooth and there are no bulges or sagging, I dont see ANY stretchmarks!

Oh my! What a cute baby! You look great! And your c-section scar looks just like mine. It’s weird because I kinda like mine – like it’s a badge of courage or something. I think it make us look bad ass! Ha! I have 15 more pounds to lose (DS is 13 months old now) so don’t be so hard on yourself. Enjoy that baby!!

Just wanted to let you know that my body kept the last 10 lbs until my son was weaned, and then they came right off within weeks. Insurance policy to make sure the babes got fed, I guess…. You look great, and your son is absolutely edible!!

You look awesome! And breastfeeding caused me to retain the weight, not lose it. And I have heard plenty of other mothers say the same. I think it’s a hormonal thing :)

You look wonderful! It’s been 4 months for me and I still have a little more than you to go and it’s been such a challenge juggling with working full time, daycare, finding time for hubby, going to the gym eating healthy consistently etc. Your son is adorable!
