this is a sincere query, as i’m really baffled by what i’ve seen on this blog. i’m a two-time participant here, and i’d like to know why so many women who’ve submitted full-torso photos have shaved their
pubic region completely bald. i am a natural, hairy female, so this behavior is strange to me. would anyone care to help me understand the appeal of looking like a little girl in the one area that should look like a mother? i hope this doesn’t come off as bitchy or judgemental. i really would like to know what moms have to say about this. thank you!
Question
Advice for a Diabetic (Anonymous)
hello im am 20yr. old female height 5’4 weight 120lb. i have been a type one diabetic since the age of eight, im a medical mystery as i was at a perfect weight for my age , i despised treats and i was in 3 sports every year. The reason im here is because im about to get married to the man of my dreams and he wants 3 kids. The only story ive heard about a diabetic pregnancy where the woman had it preexisting she almost had kidney and liver failure days before delivery. That terrifies me i want to be able to give my future husband 3 kids without the fear of death on my mind. thats why im here i know all the general things to expect with a diabetic pregnancy but i wanted to hear from a real person and not some research journal. Im not talking about gestational diabetes but stories from women with pre-existing type 1 diabetes and have had succesful and relatively uneventful pregnancies. Im planning on starting in 3 yr. as im heading to veterinary school and i want to start having kids before 26 to reduce risks to myself and the baby. So please any women who have pre-existing type 1 pregnancies please share your experiences so i kinda know what to expect and maybe ease my fears as right now im in the state of mind that i might die a horrible death during my pregnancy even with perfectly controlled sugar(im on an insulin pump) and diet and exercise. thank you
Question from a reader about cesareans (Ashley)
I’m 19 years old and i have and 18 month old daughter named Adrienne. Within the year, me and my husband will probably try to have another baby. I had a difficult birth with Adrienne. She was 9lbs and 5oz. I gave birth vaginally and i tore…bad. I starting losing a lot of blood. I passed out and woke up about 6 hours later. I did wake up before that, but never longer than 2 minutes. When i had finally woken up and didn’t pass back out, i noticed there was an IV in my other arm. I was having a blood transfusion. I had 4 total bags put into my body.
At Adrienne’s 6 month doctors appointment, I asked my doctor about the next time i give birth and if a c-section would be possible. (I had wanted one with Adrienne, but they told me it would only happen in case of an emergency.) I was told that with my next child, i would have a c-section. Now that me and husband are in talks of when we will start trying, i’m getting scared. I’ve been on your site many times. i’ve seen the women who have posted the incisions of their own c-sections. I won’t be able to have another child vaginally.
I would like women to send me stories of their c-sections to kind of calm me down and make me realize that i shouldn’t be as scared as i am. the part that scares me the most is recovery. my body still isn’t fully recovered from having my daughter. i still have pain when it comes to sex and using tampons.
Afraid of C-Section, Episiotomy
I was hoping some of you might have better knowledge of how and when these procedures are done. It doesn’t seem to me like a c-section would ever be necessary, unless the baby was breech or blocked (vasa previa), and that an episotomy would only be necessary if the baby’s oxygen supply was in jeopardy. I’ve read that rates of both surgeries are high, and that they’re often done when labor is taking too long. My mother was in labor for 28 hours with my brother, and fortunately no surgeries were needed. I’m worried that having a long labor, on top of being insured by the state, may lead my doctor to decide that it’s been long enough. I’m willing to live with the possible scars of carrying a baby, but not those of an unwanted surgery (or two). Is there any way to express in writing your intentions or to legally prevent these procedures..?
Stretchmarks? (Anonymous)
I am a 30 year old mom of two. I just found out that I am about 7 weeks pregnant with number three. (WHOOPS!) I have MANY stretch marks from my first two pregnancies. I am hoping to keep them to a minimum with this pregnancy, but obviously, what I have done in the past has not worked! I would like to know what creams have worked for those of you with minimal marks. Please respond with anything you have used that worked. Thanks for your help!
Hair loss, anyone?
Got this e-mail today:
I think your site is great and it’s relieving to know that we moms are not alone with our post-partum marks. I’d be interested to see pictures of moms’ hair loss after pregnancy, because I always tend to have large bald spots on my head after I give birth. I figure the head is just another part of the mom’s body that can also exhibit evidence of having a baby, although hair falling out doesn’t happen to every mom after giving birth. Any of your member-moms have any pictures/experiences like that?
Some Questions for your Ladies (Anonymous)
Recieved via e-mail:
After two vaginal births and nursing my first baby for 15 months and still
nursing my second baby (now 17 months), I’m wondering, do other mothers look
like this?
My first question is about nursing. To give you an idea of what I look
like, I’m 5′ 4″ and weight 124 lbs. I go to the gym daily and am in pretty
decent shape. My nipples; however, are another story. The areola sag. My
nipple stays in place, but the areola around the nipple sag down. Is this
normal?
My second question is about vaginal trauma. I’m going on vacation next week
and decided to buy some Nair and give myself a low income bikini wax. I
squatted in the tub with a hand mirror and the nair and proceeded to see
that the inside of my vagina is on the outside.?!? I look like I have a
small (for lack of a better description) lipstick tube of internal skin
hanging out of my vagina. I’m not sure if this was there after the first
birth, but it’s there now. And part of me will now feel self conscience the
next time my husband and I make love. Has anyone else “looked” at themselves
lately? My baby is 17 months old now and I only just learned about
this…HELP!

Can anybody please tell me if she have serious stretch marks without gaining not so much weight?
and if U use some cream and have it anyway?
Thanks

This was left in the comments and I wanted everyone to have the chance to se it and respond. Thanks!
I have a question for everyone… Has anyone else ever developed stretch marks on the top of the vagina, like in the hair? Just curious, because so far, I’m the only one of all of my friends. Please, if you could ask readers or even respond yourself, that would be great. Thanks so much.
