Question (I-dra)

this is a sincere query, as i’m really baffled by what i’ve seen on this blog. i’m a two-time participant here, and i’d like to know why so many women who’ve submitted full-torso photos have shaved their
pubic region completely bald. i am a natural, hairy female, so this behavior is strange to me. would anyone care to help me understand the appeal of looking like a little girl in the one area that should look like a mother? i hope this doesn’t come off as bitchy or judgemental. i really would like to know what moms have to say about this. thank you!

I shave for many reasons. Intercourse is more comfortable, as hairs don’t get tugged on. It also makes oral sex more comfortable for my husband (meaning I get more of it!). I don’t feel that it makes me look like a little girl, as little girls don’t have the same breasts and curves as I do.

Shaved and trimmed pubic hair is currently very common. Beauty trends of many kinds come and go.

I shave for the same reasons as Angela but I also feel it’s cleaner without all that hair, especially during my period week. I also like being able to wear slinky, sexy, tiny underwear to please my partner without all that hair poking out to say hello! Being natural is also beautiful but isn’t every woman different? And I dont feel any less like a mother just because I shave. And I certainly don’t feel like a little girl!! Hope this helps you!

I partially shave..not all…however I do this for a few reasons. I personally feel that during that time of the month, I cannot STAND well..I’m sure you can guess what I’m saying and it just makes me feel very yucky, which is the main reason I began shaving the labia area. That is still my main reason for doing it, the secondary less important reason is I just feel more comfortable that way. HTH…
    Cheers!

I shave because my husband likes smooth skin…:)

I’ve always trimmed or shaved…going on 20+ years now. I just prefer the “cleaner” look of a smooth mound. I prefer a shaved or trimmed man for oral sex because I don’t like hair in my teeth, so I know hub appreciates the grooming. And I don’t ever think I look like a little girl….I think shaved, trimmed or au natural….we all look like women….it’s just an esthetic preference for me.

Some find it sexy and feminine. My sister shaves herself bald because her husband finds it sexy.

I don’t agree with your statement that a grown woman’s shaved vulva looks “like a little girl.” The cleft of venus is located higher on girls than it is on women, so there is a difference in appearance. As to why, shaving there is a hygienic issue for many of us–especially during our periods….

Like Angela, I find intercourse to be more pleasurable when I am shaved. Sensation is increased. Additionally, I personally dislike body hair–it is natural, sure, but so is acne, and I don’t like that, either. Keeping my body hair short is also cleaner, especially during monthly cycles.

I do not feel at all like a little girl with body hair removed. I have just never liked it.

I have often wondered the same thing. I had to shave down there once for a surgery and when it started to grow back OY! the itching!! They must have to shave every day…I just don’t have the time. Good question…I’d like to know too!

I always kinda felt the same way about shaving but I started to shave because I feel it makes my torso appear longer, being short and having a “mother’s belly”, which lil girls do not have. I think thats what makes the difference. :-)

Hmmm … I feel just the opposite about shaving and intercourse. I tried shaving once. It irritated my skin and made intercourse a bit painful; pubic hair can act as a buffer between two bodies rubbing together for an extended period of time. And both my husband and I like the look of a mons pubic covered with hair.

I did bikini waxing for the first time this summer. It was so much nicer than having to shave all summer for the pool, less razor stubble. I never went ‘bald’ (did a modified brazilian I guess) but did enjoy having much less hair in the heat of the summer. Plus, never a worry about my bathing suit showing hair! And it grew back much softer! added bonus. I will do it again next summer for sure.

I’ve shaved since I was 16. I am now 34 and still shave. I feel cleaner when I have less hair. I’m very Italian and have a lot of hair so I tend to grow more than most.

I hate the feeling of hair down there, especially the hairs on my “lips” (sorry to be so graphic). My husband could not care one way or another what I do, I could be hairless or grow it all the way out, but for me I like it smooth. It is easy for me to get that region waxed along with my legs once a month, then deal with daily or weekly shaving…and the sex feels better to me as well!!!

I wax because my boyfriend enjoys it, he respects me as a woman and a feminist everyday, so I feel it is something small I can do for him. I don’t feel I look like a little girl because although I am quite thin, I still have womanly curves and stretch marks etc. However I do feel there is too much emphasis on these things from men growing up looking at pornography and thinking that this is what women look like.

This month, I stopped waxing it all :) Frankly, it is too damn painful!

depends, if shaved it will grow in thicker and fill more bristly for both you and your partner. that’s why i wax/nair (not all of it!) and so does my partner (makes it easier for both of us if you catch my drift).
