Update (Bryana)

This is my other post.

The last time I posted, I was only 2 ½ months post partum. I had already lost all of my pregnancy weight, and was happy about that. Since my last post, I have continued to lose weight. I weigh less now than I did when I was 11 years old. No one has been able to find out why I continue to lose weight. I love food; I am always in the fridge or the cupboard looking for food. I am addicted to salty foods, especially chips, they are a part of my daily diet. But despite my bad eating habits I continue to lose weight. I am sure many women would be envious, but it’s almost scary. Will I continue to lose weight? What happens when too much is just too much?

Before I got pregnant with my daughter I weighed about 120lbs. I am only 5 feet tall, so 120lbs isn’t too bad. But since having my daughter, almost 6 months ago, I am down to 105lbs. I am 15lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight!! Sure, it is nice not to worry about what I am eating all the time, but I want it to stop. Unfortunately I was not blessed with very elastic skin. It does not bounce back… AT ALL! It is becoming more and saggier with each pound that comes off, and I wish it would just stop. My body looks as though it has deflated. Don’t get me wrong, I love my body for what it did: It gave me 2 beautiful and amazing children. I don’t even care about the stretch marks or saggy skin… I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin again. My husband loves my body, with or without the imperfections, it’s just me… I need to love my body again!

I took these pictures today. They are all of me 5 ½ months post partum, except the last 2, they are my son who just turned 4 on Dec 12, and my daughter who will be 6 months on Dec 23.

Updated here, here, and here.

After I had my daughter I lost a lot of weight fast, then when I got to 20lbs under my pre-preg weight I went to the dr and found out it was my thyroid…just a thought! You look great and your kids are adorable!

I was the same way, I have lost weight without even trying, granted I am five ten and now 125 pounds. I got lucky in the skin department and have no sagging or stretch marks…but like you I still keep losing weight. I dont want to lose anymore. Weird how some dont have to try and some never lose the weight. Perhaps you should go get your thyroid checked. Also for the loose and saggy skin you do have wait a year or so, and see if you medical will cover the cost of a tummy tuck and a skin tightening through surgery, its not fair that at such a young age you have to go through life with allt he extra skin, tell them it interferes with your daily life and has cause you to become severly depressed, even if it hasnt.

I was going to suggest having your thyroid checked too – any doc can just run a simple TSH (thyroid simulating hormone) check (blood test) to see if this might be contributing to the rapid weight loss despite a huge appetite. Post partum thyroid issues aren’t all that uncommon. Be well!

Like Mary said, it could be your thyroid. Also, I had the same thing after I had my daughter and was diagnosed with Celiacs Disease which can be deadly. I recommend getting tested for both. Good luck! And your babies are adorable!

    Hi there,
I was going to say the same as the other posters about getting your thyroid checked out. Thanks for sharing your pics, both you and your kids are gorgeous IMO *waves*

Are you breastfeeding? I lost a ton of weight with just breastfeeding. I’m 3 years postpartum and I’m finally exercising regularly… well, today was day 2. :) If you’re not nursing, then look into the previous posts on Celiac Disease and thyroid issues.

I think you look amazing! You’re not the only one with inelastic skin. It’s great to share our stories with one another and know we’re not alone. :) Your babies are beautiful! Congratulations!

i would also say the thyroid could be the issue. i have hyperthyroidism. answer these questions: are you intolerant to heat and sweating more? are you having more frequent bowel movements? are you anxious or have a faster heart rate? all those are additional signs of hyperthyroidism. ask your doctor about it.

I lost weight the same way after each of my children. I got pregnant with my 2nd right after my 1st’s first birthday and was 10 lbs below my pre-preg weight then. I am now 26 lbs below my pre-first pregnancy weight and it’s driving me crazy. I’m under 100 lbs and look sick. I’m about to wean my daughter at a year old and I’m hoping I can gain some back.

It sounds to me like you are not bringing in enough calories to make up for the outtake from breast feeding. I was not able to breast feed, so I am no master in the fact, but it sounds possible. Or you could have hyperthyroidism. I think it is definitely worth getting checked out. I got below the 100’s as well and looked very sick. I managed to up my calorie intake and now sit steady at 107 lbs.
