Mommy to a Flower (Meghan)

Age: 18
Number of pregnancies and births: 1
The age of your children, or how far postpartum you are: 6 months pp, 6 months old

I was 180lbs when I found out I was pregnant . I was trying to lose weight, but having a hard time .
Throughout my pregnancy I gained 40lbs and some stretchmarks . After my daughter was born, I breastfed her, and lost all my pregnancy weight in the first week. After that, I have not been able to lose any more .

Its been 6 months, and I often find myself depressed about the way I look . I see other women, and wish I looked more like them. I am still breastfeeding, and trying to excersize as much as possible . My boyfriend always tells me he thinks I am sexy and doesnt want me to change a thing . I wish I felt the same way about myself .

The first two pictures are from my pregnancy, and the last two are 5 months pp .

You look pretty good to me! How much are you trying to lose? I think you look thin/average. Don’t lose too much! By the way I struggled to lose weight until I was about 8-9 mo. pp, then almost overnight I was back into my old clothes. It probably didn’t happen that fast, but when you accept your body it seems to become nicer and nicer in your eyes. Keep it up :) You are beautiful.

You remind me of myself after the birth of my first child.
Just remember to have faith in your body and with your self. If you want to love your body, you have to start with the inside. Love the person you are and you will begin to do what it takes to love the outside. I think you look really good for only 6 months pp. Take some time to relax and get to know your body pp, because it will never be the same. :)

Honestly, you look amazing. The stretchmarks will fade with time, and they aren’t even really that bad at all.

Good luck losing weight if that is what you want, but you look fantastic exactly the way you are.

I did the same as you – lost almost all of the weight within the first few weeks with breastfeeding. But then I leveled off until about a year, then lost some more. Then at eighteen months pp I lost a bunch more. Then after my daughter weaned at 2 years 5 months, I dropped some more weight – but that’s mostly because I was able to consume fewer calories and I went back to school which is on a hill, so I trek up and down hills all day. Trust me that this isn’t the end of your weightloss. Keep up with the breastfeeding. It’s the thing I miss most about having a little one. :) You look lovely! The stretchmarks become silvery at about a year to eighteen months pp. Many blessings!!! :)

Wow, we look a lot alike, down to the stretch marks.
I understand how you feel about not seeing yourself like others see you, since you look fabulous!!! :D
