8 Months Postpartum After Two Children (Ashley)

im 22 years old, i became pregnant at age 19 and on my 21st first birthday, *happy birthday mommy, here is your failing epidural!!!*

my stomach was actually worse with my first child after she was born, even though my second was a pound larger weighing in at 8lbs 9oz and she gave me more stretch marks but i made a point to eat very healthy and be active, took liquid collagen supplements you can get at any health/supplement store, and lots of vitamin C as it is a key factor in collagen production and religously applied firming serum to my belly, im now gonna start wearing body shapers that i ordered on ebay which i should have done long ago, my belly just gets better and better every month, still depresses me all the time but i made a 2 year rule, if my skin doesnt smooth out in two years after my last baby i will save up for one more year for a tummy tuck, i did have a tubal ligation so im done having babies, im having a breast reduction in july as i have 34 DDD and they are causing back problems for me, but ill admit ill miss my pre baby boobies i couldnt even breast feed for very long with either of them cause my back couldnt handle it, but in time ill be back in my bikini and be comfortable in my own skin, and im sure with lots of help, planning and support all moms can do the same, but taking time out for yourself to be active and vent out will help all frustration and depression, everyday is a mothers day, so take care of yourselves!!!

You look fine. Nothing wrong with your belly. But if you had your baby on your 21st birthday, you couldn’t have gotten pregnant at 19. (?)

I really think that the comment doubting a time line is ridiculous. It defeats the purpose of this site.
Anyways, I think you look great! I’ve never heard of liquid collagen. Thanks for a good tip.

I think the writer of that comment was just asking for clarification, Sarah. :)

ate lots of salad with low fat dressing and controlled all my other food groups, once i got used to consuming less and being able to function better with with less in my system, i started working out, with cardio and weights (weights are very very important and its something you can do without a gym membership, i use two ten pound dumbbells, a pilates ball for core strength, and the most effective cardio is a light walk with your heart rate staying under 130, and higher and your fat loss effectiveness decreases, so you can take you kids out for a kid paced walk and come home and lift some weights for 15-20 mins and then another 15-20 mins of pilates when the babies/kids go to bed, its so relaxing when you follow it with hot or cold green tea which is a good cleanser and also helps weight loss, the key is not to look at the scale, cause muscle weighs more than fat, i have actually stayed the same weight since 3 months after my second baby, but dropped pant sizes, women shouldnt worry about weight, take a hint from the guys, its not about your weight its about how fit you are, a girdle which i have been wearing for about a week now helps tons too, it seems to guide the fat to where it will look best, even after you take it off, just dont work out in it, one other thing if you are doing sit ups, suck your tummy in, if your not you are pushing them out and that isnt good post partum because your abs need to meet back in the middle of your belly, pushing them out during work outs prevents that which could then cause a lot of aches and pains and potentially very painful unnecessary surgery and scars

I don’t see a single stretch mark though. Your lucky that if you do have any you can’t see them.

    Hi,

I just saw your comment on my picture about us being belly twins! Hehe I didn’t know you could comment on the pictures themselves so that is why its taken me so long to respond… I had no clue and just happened to look today. :-)

We have the same rule too! :-) For me if after 3 years I’m not where I want to be then I will consider plastics. I recently saw a really bad tummy tuck on someone so that’s made me want to do everything else before even considering it.

How has your progress been? I’ve stayed about the same. I still want to lose another 10lbs or so, but my motivation to do so comes and goes. Even though I’ve stayed about the same my skin has tightened up a bit more… not a lot, but a bit. :-)

actually ive noticed my belly tighting up more lately, im about 11 PP now, and i actually just had my breast reduction, which was a gift from the gods, i recommend it to everyone who has a large bust. i just sent a text to my fiance about the scarring i might have, he automatically tried to comfort me by telling me they will fade, i told him i dont care its like my stretch marks, i actually like them, i just wish they could be smooth, i cant see that as asking for too much but sometimes it seems like forever, and as for plastic surgeons always ask to see their portfolio of before and afters first! if your in ontario i would recommend Dr Zorn, thats who did my breast reduction and she is a perfectionist, she said if i wasnt even she would take me back in to fix it, but she got it perfect the first time!!

how long postpartum are you now have you taken anymore pictures? im gonna repost at 1 yr postpartum again i think if there is enough difference
