Postpartum 21 and 25 years later – 3rd post (Anonymous)

June 12, 2009

Original entries here and here.

I have posted recent photos of me twice before, but now I have a beautiful drawing a friend did, from the only photo I have of me pregnant, almost 26 years ago, 2 days before my son was born. I am going to display this in my lounge – my sons and some friends may be prudish but I have no shame and am so proud of this lovely, sensitive drawing he did especially for me.

We need more women like you – women whose children are older – to post. You are absolutely awesome, thank you for sharing with those of us who have just started out on this motherhood journey.
I’m working very hard to convince my mother (2 pregnancies 29 and 30 years postpartum) and grandmother (5 pregnancies, the last 47 years ago) to take part. Wish me luck. :)

Thank you so much for the positive comments. I wish I had photos and drawings of both my pregnancies. I am thrilled with these drawings and have hung them proudly regardless of disapproval of others. The photos I posted of me now, if you have seen them, are nothing as beautiful as these. Please encourage your mums and grandmas to post photos – young people who hate their altered bodies need to know we change all through our lives but inside we are always beautiful. The outer shell gives us confidence maybe but the real beauty is from within.
