Mother of Four (Anonymous)

I am a 33 year old Mother to four boys. Twins who are 9 1/2, 6 1/2 year old and a 4 1/2 year old. I am posting my pictures of my body as it is now after 4 kids and 3 pregnancies. I am 5′ 7″ and 170 pounds.

I would say I am 50% comfortable in my own skin. My husband tell’s me he thinks I am so sexy yet I don’t feel it because of my flabby belly. I have recently looked into getting a breast lift and tummy tuck. My husband supports me if it is something I want to do. I am so torn. I don’t want to be shallow and selfish.

I guess I am posting my picture on here to get encouragement from other Mothers. I know I am my worst enemy since I feel my stomach is just nasty. The picture of my stomach up close with the black markings of a football shape is the skin the Doctor would remove if I had a tummy tuck.

Twin Skin (Jessica)

Age: 27
Pregnancies/Births: 2
Age of children: 14 month old identical twin boys

Story: I gave birth to twin boys 14 months ago. I weighed 235 when they were born and dropped down to 187 while breastfeeding. My pre-pregnancy weight was around 180. I stopped breastfeeding at 9 or 10 months. I have since gained weight and am now 219. I’ve tried changing my diet for the better but I just can’t seem to drop pounds or get rid of the “twin belly.” There was a time for some months where I would eat everything in sight because of the stress and lack of sleep and now this is the outcome. I now have time to be depressed over my body since I do not have devote all my time to the boys since they are more independent and have each other to play with.

I try to take them out for walks but since it’s cold out, we can’t go everyday. I try to exercise when they nap but I feel like I am getting nowhere. If anyone has this problem and is making progress in at least losing some of the belly flap, please share any tips. I think this is the part of my body I hate most right now. My boobs are deflated but it’s nothing a bra can’t hide, however, the stomach is another story (and cellulite and stretch marks, but I am more concerned about fitting into clothes!) I can’t find clothes that fit right and can’t fit into any type of jeans, even maternity ones!

Fit After a Son and Twins (Jen)

I am Jen and I am 30 years old. I have an 8 year old son and 6 month old twin girls! They are awesome kids and they make me smile every day. Of course having twins is not something that everyone plans. I found out that they were twins when I was only 6 weeks pregnant. Of course I was overjoyed but scared to death also. I have been a genetically thin person my whole life, but a few years back I got into working out and eating healthy and my body changed from being thin to being muscular and strong. I loved it. I was a very active person before my pregnancy. I had great abs and I was scared that I would never see them again. I wanted healthy babies of course, but I didn’t want to gain a bunch of unneeded weight. My doctor told me that it was ok if I continued to workout during my pregnancy not exceeding a lifting amount of 20lbs. I stayed within his rules of course for my babies’ safety. Naturally, before pregnancy, I worked super hard for my body and health and was really scared of the after effects of carrying twins. I had never had twins before and yes everyone had to tell me their after baby body horror stories. I knew right away I was going to deliver via c section. I had a hard birth with the first and a horrible episiotomy. I knew I didn’t want to go through that again and it was safer for the babies. Everyone told me about how I better kiss the bikini body goodbye because c sections cause a lifelong potbelly that cannot be fixed. I am not the type to listen to this stuff because just because it happened to them does NOT mean it will happen to me. I lotioned every single day, up to 8 times a day towards the end. I only carried my twins to 33 weeks. I gained a total of 17 lbs and the babies were very healthy!! They came early due to a membrane rupture. I held them in for 10 days after my water ruptured. They did have a NICU stay but it wasn’t for long. They were just tiring out while eating. I want to tell women that I am just an average Jane. I am nothing special, not a celebrity. I want women to know that you don’t have to be a celebrity to have a bikini body after babies. I want to be an inspiration to eat healthy not only for your benefit but for the baby as well. My c section recovery was very quick. I was super sore for 72 hours. I went back to the gym after 2 and a half weeks. I did not work abs because my doctor told me it wasn’t safe just yet. After my 6 week check up he gave me the ok to go back to abs. It was hard at first but I kept at it and my core strength came back stronger than ever. I’m 5 foot 8 and weigh around 127 now. I did not get any stretch marks with either pregnancy due to tons of water, tons of lotion and good collagen genetics. Before pregnancy I was 135. I feel great being able to run after my 8 year old and catch him! I enjoy being able to run around like a crazy person aka mom of twins, and have lots of energy. I want my children to see me working out and follow in my footsteps on the healthy road the way I did with my dad, who was a competitive power lifter during my childhood. I love living a healthy lifestyle! I couldn’t feel better!!

Toned After Twins (Lindsay)

I am a 27 year old mom of beautiful twin girls! my pregnancy was a very difficult one- spending the majority of it on bed rest and in the hospital. My girls were born too early and spent 2 months in the NICU. Once they arrived home, I could never find the time or energy to get to the gym. I started working out from home when I could and lost all of the twin baby weight in the privacy of my own bedroom! I do have slight stretch marks, and I don’t quite look how I did before, but I am happy with the progress I have made and feel good about myself as a mother of twins! I have now created a blog to help others stay motivated to reach their own health and fitness goals, to provide a fun and supportive community, and to share healthy recipes for families! But most importantly, I am a proud stay at home mom to my happy and healthy girls and am LOVING every minute of it!

Still Look 5 Months Pregnant After C-Section (Anonymous)

I gave birth to my beautiful twin boy/girl via c section in January this year (2013). When I was pregnant I didn’t give much thought to what I would look like afterwards. I put on 2 1/2 stone whilst pregnant and all my weight was on my stomach, it was huge as you can imagine with two in there, I could barely move at the end.

After I left the hospital I also left with a very pregnant looking belly which I wasn’t expecting, 5 months on it has gone down loads but I still have a very poochy looking belly. I believe this is down to disastis recti. I have been doing exercises to try and strengthen my core and walk nearly every day with the buggy but my belly still stays the same, will it ever loose the roundness?? It has been this size for a while now and just doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller.

I was very lucky that I didn’t get any stretch marks but I would swap this belly for a few tiger stripes :(

Please excuse my mismatched underwear lol!

Mother of 8 Wants to Say, “Aloha!” (Anonymous)

I have a fairly long story, but don’t we all?

I was a young teenage mom.

I am now 40 years young.

I have had 8 children, 7 full term pregnancies. One of them being twins, BOGO free.

My oldest is 20, my youngest is 3.

I was co-dependent and chose abusive relationship’s.

I did get therapy and have been working hard to learn to love and accept myself. Raising your emotional I.Q. is what I call it.

I don’t work out yet, I am collecting equipment and educating myself with the intent of developing more muscle tone. I feel that I am skinny fat. KWIM?

I do study and read about nutrition and hormones, etc. and apply what I learn in my and my children’s life.

I am pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics so that eventually I can teach and empower other women in the near future.

I don’t think I am perfect, I am perfectly me in the present moment.

Most of all I wanted to let other women know that with proper nutrition and diet you can change your body.

You deserve the absolute best and nothing but love. We all do.

Mom of 7 – It’s Time to Find Me Again (Jennifer)

I am a mother of 7. I had my first child when I was just 16. His twin sisters followed 22 months later. My next child a beautiful baby girl was born 2 years after the twins. Then we had another girl just shy of 3 years later. When she was 3.5 months old we discovered we were expecting again. After 4 little girls we were thrilled to have another son. He was born 1 year 1 week and 1 day after his sister. Our last child was born 3 years later and she will forever be the baby in our family. I had my tubes tied after this and I still regret it to this day. If I could afford it I would have 20 children. Pregnancy never got to me. I loved every moment of that special time and I often find myself longing for it. Now I am almost 32 years old and it is time to start working on me. All my life I have devoted my time to my children and a full time job. Now it is time for me to find the time I need to get myself to a point in which I am happy with my body. I am so disgusted with my body but after 7 children, 1 set of multiples and 5 c-sections I am not sure what to expect.

I am 32 years old

4 Babies in 3 Years (Anonymous)

Hi,
I’m 35, mother of 4 beautiful children.
My PP weight was in 110-120 range. My first – twin pregnancy my weight went up to 198 lb, I went back to 115 lb 9 month after.
18 after the twins I’ve had my third beautiful baby and my weight was up to 170 lb. Again I lost all extra weight by the 9th month after the delivery.
Two years later I’ve had my fourth baby and my weight went up to 165lb. I’ve managed to lose 35 lb, but the rest is still with me.
I feel as if I had been more athletic I could get in the better shape, but my flabby belly will always stay with me and I hate it.
My husband is being very supportive and still very attracted to me sexually which means a lot. In general I feel very proud of my children, my husband and myself. Right clothes, nice hair, lipstick and wedges – and carry myself like a model, makes people turn their heads whenever I get out with all of my babies who are 5,5,4 and 2 now and I feel good. Carry yourself tall, girls, and your bellies will look flatter and your breasts fill sit higher and everyone will see how gorgeous you really are.

Mother of Four (Jerrika)

My name is Jerrika. I am 24, I have 4 children between the ages of 2 and 6.
I gave birth to my oldest son in 2005, I was 18 year old, and felt like I had lost my body before I have even had one.
I soon had my 2nd son at 20, and felt much the same, negative and self conscious.
I gave birth to my twins in 2009 which after 2 natural births, was a C section,
I now had 4 boys and a body that felt like it had gone through a small war.
I even joked with friends that I had been attacked by a bear, and survived with the scars to prove it!
Although I was what I feel to be lucky, I still have issues every day when I look in the mirror and see what I am left with.
I am logical, and realize that I am not badly scarred. Even though it may not seem like much to some people on this website,
lack of confidence has no maximum or minimum requirements.
I am lucky enough to have friends and family who build my esteem for my everyday, but it still eats at me sometimes.
i never even got to have an adult body, so I will never get to know what I “could have been”.

I love my children, and at this point feel a lot better than I did six years, as this is the body I was MEANT to have.
you get what you get, and I know that I have 4 little boys who I couldn’t be happier to have around.

My name is Jerrika, and I am a free lance model. Pregnancy doesn’t end life, or ruin a body… I’ve earned my stripes! haha. Thanks.
