Still Look 5 Months Pregnant After C-Section (Anonymous)

I gave birth to my beautiful twin boy/girl via c section in January this year (2013). When I was pregnant I didn’t give much thought to what I would look like afterwards. I put on 2 1/2 stone whilst pregnant and all my weight was on my stomach, it was huge as you can imagine with two in there, I could barely move at the end.

After I left the hospital I also left with a very pregnant looking belly which I wasn’t expecting, 5 months on it has gone down loads but I still have a very poochy looking belly. I believe this is down to disastis recti. I have been doing exercises to try and strengthen my core and walk nearly every day with the buggy but my belly still stays the same, will it ever loose the roundness?? It has been this size for a while now and just doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller.

I was very lucky that I didn’t get any stretch marks but I would swap this belly for a few tiger stripes :(

Please excuse my mismatched underwear lol!

Age – 36
No. of Pregnancies – 1 (Twins)
Age of Children – 5 Months
Post Partrum – 5 Months

Your belly has carried twins inside for 9 months and Looks so good for 5 months pp. You should be so proud. You have a beautiful belly and it will flatten much more! I have a flat belly after 2 Kids but i would give anything to swap my saggy skin and stretch marks with your belly ;-)

Your stomach looks amazing! I’m 27, i’v had 2 kids, my youngest will be 2 years next week. I put on way too much weight during both of my pregnancies and im only now back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My BMI is now at 20. My stomach is covered in huge strech marks which make my skin all wrinkly and saggy. You look grate, i don’t even see any strech marks on you from the photo and you’ve had twins in there! I just had one at a time. You look grate, and don’t worry about your belly, it will shrink back down.

It’s definitely Diastasis ecti, and there are DEFINITELY exercises that will make it SO much better! Here are a few that I use personally to deal with my own diastasis issue:

You look beautiful just as you are, but I *know* the feeling of “what happened to my belly???” after I had my second. I gave birth yet months after, I had to buy shirt in a size larger than what I wore during my pregnancies because my belly was so distended. The exercises on these links have helped tremendously. There are a few free ones on the sites but mostly they cost money. Hope they help you as they’ve helped me. Oh, and also look on You Tube for videos of DR exercises… Hugs to you!

You look awesome! I wish i looked like that so soon after giving birth. Were our hardest critics!
I had twins 3 1/2 years ago. It took about a year and a half for my stomach to tighten up. I found a really good double jogging stroller on craigslist and ran with them every day. I started at 1 mile and worked up to 8. I lost about 60lbs doing that alone.
Good luck with your precious little ones!

Definitely diastasis recti – STOP doing those core exercises, you’ll make it worse! Look up exercises for diastasis recti, and your tummy will be back to normal in no time!

I had twins in April via Cesarean (my 4th pregnancy) and I looked like that 1.5 months PP, and started doing those exercises and have a lovely flattish tummy now! You can do it! :D

You really do not look like you carried two. I had twins in November and look like I carried two. I have stretch marks on my hips, stomach, boobs, thighs, legs and some on my butt. My stomach sags and is a little rounder than pre-pregnancy. You have to remember you carried two at the same time and it has only been 5 months. They say it takes 9 months to get your body back, but again, you carried two so it will take longer. Carrying twins is a task, I know. You look better than I do at 7.5 months. It will get better with time, but if it doesn’t just look at your two babies and tell yourself they were worth it.

You WILL lose the roundness! Perhaps, you just need to switch up your routine! Either way- your body is beautiful! As a fellow mother of twins, I know how much of a struggle can be. Don’t give up until you are happy and confident in your own skin! It is possible!

5 months?! You look fantastic! You have had a major op, give yourself time to recover. I’m a twin mum (c-section too) your tummy will go down, the amount of excersize your twins will give you will see to that! :-) good luck, you look wonderful!

I have weighed 115 pretty much my whole life including after having 5 boys. I got pregnant a sixth time and had to have a c-section, which I had never had. My son ended up passing away from Sids 2 1/2 months later. I got really depressed and NEVER lost my stomach. Elijah would be 4 yrs old now, and I appear 6 months pregnant. Please give me any advice on losing this weight. I eat small meals, although I haven’t been exercising much. Any suggestions?
