Twins – The Aftermath – Update (Anonymous)

Original entry here.

Hi, I wrote my thoughts and feeling back in May 2008 in my original posting “Twins- The Aftermath”. Almost 6 months later, I have tried to loose weight. I Finally compared the pictures and I can see a difference in which makes me PROUD! i have never been proud of my weightloss. THANK you for all you wonderful thoughts and comments. I have grown to ACCEPT my body. My goal is is to save enough money to get a tummy tuck once i have my last child ( i am planning to have one more, but not so sure). I have notice the weight loss but my skin is really sagging, and very flappy. Thank you for the support!

I totally appreciate your post here today. I honestly love the fact that you are accepting of your beautiful body that grew your twins (and you look beautiful!). I look more like you after my 4 babies than any of the “oh my life is over I got stretch marks, have a flat tummy that I don’t think is flat enough and am 103 lbs” boohoo-ers. Thank you for sharing, I feel so much more normal today!

I think you look fab! I had twin boys in July – they are nearly 4 months and both were 7 pounders and I think your words are inspirational…I am really struggling with how my body looks but in reading your post – and seeing that you are accepting and proud of your body and what its done (double miracle) gives me hope…time is doing its job for you – without a doubt – absolutely – thank you so much for posting – I too have got disheartened by the “boohoo-ers” – power to you! x

    Hi,
I’m also a mother of twins – Congrats on the progress! I asked my husband what he thought of my “new” body and he says it’s a sign of my love for my children that I went through that for them.

A local physical therapist who’s a member of Holistic Moms Network showed me some diaphramal breathing exercises that will strengthen the diaphram to help with any diastasis (the muscle gap in the abdomen) and I went from a 5 inch to a 4 inch gap.

I’m also looking into Julie Tupler’s book: “How to lose your mummy tummy”.

It’s also an exercise program that she’s had success with.

It’s worth a shot trying it before surgery – you’ll be in better condition for it, anyway, and if it works, you’ll have saved some trouble and money. Good luck!

You can see the difference:) Just be patient with yourself. Nothing happens overnight. The weight comes off slowly, the skin will tighten up slowly, but it will if you take care of yourself!
