Not so bad (Anonymous)

I had my son Oct. 10 2004, and this picture was taken about 6 months after…just for some of the girls out there…not everyone gets stretch marks….. I weighed about 105 before getting pregnant and I was 18. Now I weigh about 115…..so I am still not the same size, but not everyone gains 100 pounds while pregnant…I gained about 20!

Alot of women would either have minimal or no stretchmarks if they gained within the appropriate amount depending on age, height and weight before pregnancy. I weighed around 135 pounds before I was pregnant and I think by the end of it I was either 165 or 170 and my doctor told me that 25 pounds would have been more ideal. My doctor upset me when he told me at about eight months pregnant I was eating to much and gaining weight to fast because it made me a bit more aware of how much I ate and what I was eating and I tried to do a bit more walking.

In the end I got stretchmarks on my hips, thighs, butt and from breastfeeding all over my boobs.

yes, some moms are blessed with perfect bodies even after pregnancy.. but some of us aren’t soo lucky.. I gained only 30 pounds when i was pregnant with my twins.. yet I have a 3 inch diastasis recti separation and a lot of stretch marks/twinskin to show for it…The docs recommended me to gain at least 40…so it has alot to do with genetics, but also doesn’t really matter in alot of cases by how much weight you gain. My best friend was pregnant at the same time as me, and she gained about 12 pounds and the day after she delivered her body was hotter than before she was pregnant!! (her milk came in so she looked awesome! ha!)
