My belly 10 weeks after giving birth (Anonymous)

I always was very thin growing up, 5’6″, 120lbs. My pregnancy wasn’t planned, but was a pleasant surprise. I’m only 20 and my husband is 21, we were scared but excited. I was 124lbs when I found out I was pregnant. It took forever for me to start showing. People never believed me when I told them I was pregnant and couldn’t even fit into a Small in maternity clothes until I was 6 1/2 months pregnant. I started eating tons, hoping that I’d develop a belly, I wanted to LOOK pregnant. I went from 124lbs to 169lbs. I didn’t get a single stretch mark until I was 8 months pregnant, then I just blew up in them. I’m very self conscious about them now.I only have them on my stomach and sides but I hate them. I have a beautiful daughter that I’m so thankful for, but I can’t stand to look at my stomach in the mirror. I went from 169lbs to 148 the day I went home from the hospital, but I haven’t lost a pound since then. I walk daily, and do pilates 2 times a week. I try to watch what I eat, but I admit sometimes it’s easier to get pizza for supper then to cook something. My sister showed me this site while I was pregnant and I just now had gotten the courage to post my pic. I love this site!

I know it’s hard to see all of those red lines that didn’t use to be there but please believe me when I say that they fade over time.

My first baby was huge and I grew to enormous proportions and was absolutely covered in stretch marks by the end. Some are almost half an inch wide and so, so deep.

Now they are all the same color as my skin. They aren’t even really dark pink anymore. I don’t know when that happened but it did. My oldest is 11 now and my stretch marks are just a part of me. They remind me of an incredible time in my life. One I really don’t want to forget.

I know it’s not easy to accept the changes made to your body. Hopefully with time you’ll come to accept and not hate those little marks of love.

Wow! You look GREAT! 10 weeks ago? Really? I don’t look that good, and my youngest is almost 3! The stretch marks will fade, and just remember, those marks, are just part of the home your baby lived in!

you look terrific, especially for 10 weeks pp. dont worry you will lose the rest of it. i gained about the same amount as you and it took me forever to lose it….well…not really forever..my son is 6 months old now and i have about 5 pounds to go….but my pants are seemingly more than 5 pounds from fitting :) good luck and dont feel so bad…stretch marks fade, you’ll hardly notice them in a year.

you look like that only 10 weeks pp??? i am just barely looking like that and it’s been around 14 weeks…it’s weird i think we have like the same identical build. my stomach looks just like yours with the same stretch marks…except i have the brown line going down the center ;)

girl you look great. please focus on that. you will lose the weight–especially when you’re chasing that little angel of yours around.

You could be a replica of me pre-prego, prego, and afterwards. Skinny and 20 years old when prego, gained lots of weight and lost it pretty fast. Same for the stretch marks. Mine were bright red for months and have faded quite nicely. (my daughter is just almost a year old) It’s rough but FOR ME, I’ve learned to accept them for what they are. Not much else we can do right? :)

    But seriously, you look great.

you are my long lost twin! got preggers at 20, got scared… ut we were excited. 5foot 6 struggling not to drop under 120. ppl at work didnt believe i was pregnant till 6 and a half months. i stuffed food in my face to try to gain weigh because i was actually losing the first few months from the morning sickness. i didnt realise the consequesnces! at the end i was 156, from 115 and in the 8th month went from zero straie to a billion on my breasts, hips, butt, thighs (inside, outside, behind) , stomach, ack of my knees and …. CALVES!!! ridiculous. and all i have to say to you is, i would love to have your stretch marks, and the tummy it took me 1 year to get back took you 10 weeks! you have great genes sweety!

My belly looks exactly like that except it’s a little tiny bit saggier, I think because of my c-section which ruined my stomach muscles.. hehe…not sure… but although I wish I was skinnier and didn’t have the stretch marks, I think that getting a gorgeous baby boy is worth the marks in the end… and I’ve been told they’ll fade, so that’ll be nice! But until then I’m 100% happy & confident with my life as a new mom and you should be too! :)

Girl, you look great! You should be proud to have lost most of your “baby weight” and TRUST ME those stretch marks will fade and you wont even see them… I have a son that will be 3 in July and i am also very thin so stretch marks were inevitable but now you can hardly see where they were… It take time, but they will vanish! Hold your head up you are a beautiful mommy now!

Stretch Marks! Aren’t we so scared of them as women in general? Why though? Society? Unrealistic expectations of what women’s bodies should be capable of – but by whose standards and authority? How are we small girls expected to grow a whole baby – and NOT get stretch marks? Doesn’t really make sense.

I had, and have, a real phobia of them and at 36 weeks (with only 4 wks to go!!) I thought I had eluded the little suckers too. But, nope! There they were at 36 1/2 wks (and I still have 2-3 weeks to go). I didn’t even eat excessively … my eating patterns were pretty moderate.

I don’t know what my stomach will look like after giving birth and I’m a little scared. Before pregnancy my stomach was my pride and joy. Flat like yours and mark free.

But you know what I have realized? Us girls who do get them are the norm. Those who don’t are the odd (wo)men out. I’m with you! You’re not alone. You’re a beautiful woman, with a really nice figure. We aren’t bikini models and, besides, that’s what they make one piece swimming suits for! Not only that .. but I can guarantee you that no one else is going to think twice about your stretch marks, knowing that you gave birth to a beautiful baby. If they do … then they aren’t worth their salt anyway (and may need to seek counselling for their neurosis).

I think we should start a stretch mark campaign! To have society look at them differently – not as imperfections … but as marks that are cool to have. If you think about it they are kind of pretty … pearl like, and they come in all sorts of cool patterns unique to the individual! What’s wrong with that?? Chin up … you’ve joined a stretchmark sisterhood! They are just one very small part of life – and I’m sure your baby is very grateful to you for allowing yourself to get them so that she could grow comfortably and healthily … and that should outway, hopefully, any bad feelings you have about them.

Thanks for sharing and allowing me to share!

I just gave birth about a week ago I been pretty tiny and when I got pregnant it was all baby, I gained exactly what I supposted gain for the baby/ now my belly looks like yours but I didn’t get any stretch marks or anything. which is great I think after About 6 weeks my abdomen will look exactly the same as it used to look before my pregnantcy.. you should use something for the stretch marks to fade. they don’t go away though, but they can fade only. With laser you can make them to be less visible… Exercise is always good!

Your tummy looks just like mine, but i think mine is a little worse actually. Got same amount of stretch marks, they’re everywhere & they will fade, not so much on me yet & have used tons of products that haven’t worked but fingers crossed! You look fab, believe me, there are others worse off than you. I’d be grateful for a tummy like that so soon after birth. I don’t like mine but i see other mums & i hate myself for kicking up such a stink for basically no reason. I had my 10lb baby girl 1.5 years ago & only lost 7lbs since. I weigh 7stone 12lbs now & still have a 33in tummy. There are some things that can’t be changed. I see the stretch marks as a reminder of bringing my beautiful baby girl into this world. I wouldn’t EVER change that! (:

The ones i got on rear end are the ones which irritate me, they look like a plowed field. But i got my muscle tone back and even ended up with a six pack after the second one, but it took nine months of work outs to get there. I look good in clothes, and it was worth the marks to get two lovely babies. But i would of liked it both ways, no marks just the babies. But over the years i accept them, and the muscle tone is still good all over. The hard work paid off for me, blood sweat and tears to get that six pack, never again.

That exactly happened to me, I was 131 pounds and I went all the way up to 171 pounds, I have felt so ugly all of these days, but Im glad my husband says Thats our daughter´s little house that kept her alive and healthy all of those months. I also considered having a tummy tuck done, but when I see the scars I prefer my natural super huge strechmarks, and I am glad I am alive, and so is my daughter. Beauty is not about being flawless, It is about what you have on your mind and heart. I never saw any stretch mark not until 2 weeks She was born, We had a beautiful 9.8 pound daughter and now she is two and a half. I am aware that maybe I won’t be able to wear a bikini, but I can wear a one piece swimsuit and its perfectly fine. about losing weight, breastfeeding is the best way to lose it, and also a low carb and a minimum of 40 minute cardio, 3 days a week work really well

I think the shape of your body is just perfect! And the stretch marks are not that bad. I am 7 months pregnant now and I am just worried that my tummy will be flabby and gross looking after pregnancy. If my tummy looks like yours I will be more than happy!

I feel where ur coming from I had my baby girl three weeks ago and I stiill have a jelly belly, with stretch marks that looks EXACTLY like urs. And i turn 20 n 20 days lol. I didn’t get a single one till 8 months prego. And then I got covered! I went from 126lbs to 165 by the time it was said and done with and I now weigh 138. And still tryin to lose it. Breast feeding helps a lot!! But don’t worry, they will fade, I have faith! I also heard tanning help cover them up.

I heard tanning makes them worse and more noticable. I’m freaking out about my stretch marks and cant find any before and after photos of people just letting them fade naturally. I refuse to wear a one piece bikini for the rest of my life. I’m too young for that and feel extremely uncomfortable in even a tankini on a hot day :'(

I had my first baby about 4 months ago and he is the biggest blessing ever. I have never been to skinny but I never had stretch marks til now. I started working with It Works and their wraps and defining gel have been my best friends. My stretch marks are almost non-exsistant and I am smaller then ever. Message me for details or find me on facebook: caroline dunn.

Jiyaa, don’t worry about it too much. I can assure you the marks will fade, and quicker than you may think now. You will be too busy, then forget to check your stretch marks after a while and one day you’ll look and they will be barely visible. I didn’t develop mine out of pregnancy, but due to obesity when I was a teenager, and for years I was devastated about them. Then I started working out, lost weight, and my belly became more in proportion with my body.
Now I’m in my late thirties and they’ve magically mostly “gone”. You can only see them very close by and in day light, if you looked intently. Your skin is young and able to renew itself really well without the need for expensive treatments or magic potions.
It would be really good if the OP would give you an update about how her belly is looking since she posted the pictures. I bet you wouldn’t believe the difference.

I have developed really bad stretch marks from m pregnancy and my whole belly has turned dark. I started using dermelastic Serum a month back and have seen good progress so far. My stretch marks around my naval area seem to have lightened a bit. I will continue to use this product.

I have been using dermalmd stretch mark serum for 2 days going on 3 and the stretch marks are already fading. I keep looking to see if I’m really seeing a change but I am! I would recommend to anyone looking to get rid of stretch marks. Only thing I don’t like smell and I hate how it stays on my hands. Silly I know but it’s just a yucky feeling. but It’s awesome.
