Previous entry here.

I just posted at 8 Months PP I had 5 pounds to go. Well, I made my goal 9 months pp! For all you ladies with those annoying women in your life that tell you what you need to do to lose your weight and constantly tell you how you should do it…Don’t listen…Do what works for you. I had a friend who gained about 42 pounds and lost it all within 5 months. She was a size 3 when she was 6 months PP and I was watching her try on clothes in a wheelchair at 36 weeks pregnant. LOTS OF FUN FOR ME! At 4 months PP she tried to get me to go on walks and do P90X with her. I had a C-Section and I still didn’t feel like my body was ready. P90X works but it killed my recovering body and after 15 minutes of doing it I wouldn’t do it again. I was so sore! My friend informed me that if I wanted to lose my weight I needed to eat fat burning foods…My friend didn’t breastfeed and I did…I started trying what she told me to do because I was in a rut…Well, I kept getting migraines and was getting really sick. I had to go to the doctor and they told me not to starve myself and eat lots of protien and enough carbs…DON’T LISTEN TO those know it all friends, they don’t help and take you off of what was working for you. Our bodies are all completely different and we will lose weight at the pace our body wants to lose it. My body isn’t what it once was, and my butt doesn’t seem to want to perk up for me…But I love it. I am finding that I grow to love my pooch on my tummy more and more because that’s where my daughter lived for 9 months. If anyone needs any pointers I will be glad to help with advice on what worked for me. I LOVE my food and eating right wasn’t even a challenge for me because I still ate yummy food, just ate the right amounts and watched my calorie intake. I also splurged on strawberry frozen yogurt. Good luck ladies, I know how it feels when you’re first starting out with the new baby and new body. It took me 9 months!

I am also 9 months pp! (as of yesterday) but just recently started a work out regime 4 days ago, and eating better, nothing dramatic just not snacking at night and going for healthier choices. (I’m still about 10-15lbs from my prepregnancy weight.. I also gained 60lbs) I would LOVEEEE pointers! I’m feeling awesome with my new found energy and I know it’s going to take a while to see results, today was the first morning I woke up not sore though. You look amazing and even better is your attitude about life! And by the way.. you have NO pudge on your tummy! If you have any advice for me It’d be much appreciated :) my email is webb.kerry@gmail.com

WOW! I am 9 months PP with my second and I look NOTHING like that! I never will! I have stretch marks everywhere…I had a cesarean with both of my boys…the first was a little over 3 years ago. I have trouble sticking with my work out (but my resolution is to lose this weight by the summer…so I better step up!). I would LOVE to know what you did for exercise…how often, how long…also diet…what did you eat…and what did you eat when you had a sweet tooth (I have been getting that lately!). I am also still nursing. You look amazing! Did your thighs get big? If so, what did you do to tone them up? Lots of questions! I am 23 and I want to look it!

Hey Shannon I think I gave you pointers on my last story…You can read the one I posted before…All my tips where there…It took counting calories and I wasn’t religious about working out…I walked a lot and I have the fitness channel and did those about three times a week…I just picked workouts where areas that weren’t going away and toning up on their own…Like, butt, arms and back of my legs…I do have the swollen tummy from my uterus stretching but it’s okay, it’s just a precious reminder of the baby I was able to carry…and I actually LOVE it! I even get sad and touch it because I miss her being so tiny…Tiny enough she could live in my tummy lol! I used a cream at Bath and Body Works called, “Lay it on thick” worked like a charm…It takes any blemishes you have away fast…My Csection scar fades everytime I put it on and patch it up over night…I use to ceran wrap my belly and hips in it over night while I was preggo because my belly would itch soo bad! I swear it kept me from getting stretch marks…the ones I did get are pretty much gone…You can hardly see them…and it’s because I used the cream…Thanks guys…You have NO idea how hard it was fighting cravings and sticking to my routine…Sometimes I broke it…but I was determined…frozen yogurt is good when you have a sweet tooth…I even ate gramcrackers…I wouldn’t go overboard though…I had to put the stuff down when I realized how much I’d eaten lol…Some days my husband would come home with an Oreo pie and I swear…I would almost kill him had I not already devoured half of it and made myself too sick to get up lol!!! Don’t seriously deprive yourself of what’s good…I usually cheated once a week and when I was being good once every two weeks…I read some where if you watch your weight all day…Step on a scale and you see your weight go up and down…You will be careful to keep your weight down by eating less especially when you see the numbers decreasing…That REALLY helped me…I worked extra hard when the numbers went down…Nothing was sweeter than losing the weight, I was always able to pass on the goodies when I saw that! Also I noticed after nine long months that eating before 6pm helped my weightloss…A LOT…..My husband gets home from work at 5pm and is always starving so that is when we have our dinner…It works well…DRINK WATER ONLY!!! Very important as everything else has a lot of calories…They have a calculator online to tell you how many calories you should eat in a day for your height depending on what weight you want to be…I am 5’6″ and typed in 136 pounds…It told me to eat 1800 a day…I chose to eat a little less…because I ate really healthy and it just added up to less than 1800…More like 1200…I ate grilled chicken and fruits and veggies…It’ll happen, just stick to it…It’s hard but trust me…I LOOOOVE food and I did it…haha!

oh and yes, my legs got HUGE…Everything did…My husband even laughs when I say, “My hair did’nt even fit my head!” My face got HUGE…My arms…My butt, legs…I was very big…as I was 197 pounds right before they took my daughter out of me.

Sorry… yes I’m asking ANOTHER question! Are you 137 right now? Cause my goal is 135… and its really inspiring to see what I can look like if I try! I think we are around the same height too. (5’8″) Oh and is there a certain exercise you did to target the extra weight on your hips “love handles”?

Yes I am 137…My hips were never really a problem area and I never worked them out they just went away on their own…I had the problem in my arms, butt and legs…oh and my back where my shoulders go into my armpits…That area was so frustrating…I didn’t like the hangover when I would put my bra on…My stomach I never really worked out….that is probably why I still have the little pooch on it…I feel a little too thin at 137 now because I have more muscle on my body than before I was pregnant and my bra size is a size bigger…It is def different when you get back to your prepregnancy weight…Your body could be smaller or bigger…I walked a lot and I think that helped all areas in my body.

AMAZING! I am truely inspired! My goal weight is 135lbs. I too went to 197 lbs with my first and second pregnancy. EXACT same. However, i was 130 before my first pregnany and 173 before my second. I am 172 now eight months after the birth of my son(c-section for both kids). I had not come across anyone who had gained as much wieght as I did and bounce back to what you look like. Congratulations. I feel like I can actually do it now. I was discouraged at first because it took me three months to feel ok after my csection and then I had to go through another surgery (gall bladder removal). Both surgeries in the last eight months took a toll but I finally feel ready to exercise. Started two weeks ago and down four lbs. awesome story. thank you.

Thank you for posting this! I am only 5 weeks postpartum and feeling stressed and depressed if my stomach will ever look good again. This was my 2nd child but first c section and wasn’t sure if a c section would yield different results but you look awesome! I feel like I will get there again and I just have to be patient ;)

That is wonderful. It’s been 4 months PP for me and I cannot get used to my pooch. I get to sad and depressed over this new body even though i am well aware my little girl was in my belly for 9 months and I should be proud of it. I just have such a hard time accepting and keep dreaming that one day my belly will be flat again. My husband is supportive and keeps telling me how proud he is of me and the efforts I am making to get back in to shape but I just can’t be cheered up at all I don’t know what it is. I eat right and I go to the gym at least 3 times a week. I really don’t eat sweets or anything fried or fattening. I have veggies every day and drink green tea and lots of water. Pounds just don’t seem to want to go… please help…. :(

V I come back and read my story every now and again just in case women ask about my weightloss…I think Breastfeeding helped me A LOT because when my daughter would go through a grown spurt I would lose weight and my tummy would suck right up. But it took me 9 months…9 WHOLE months to lose it all…I can tell you how discouraging it was at times but I made it through it. After I lost it I didn’t see the firm body I once had but I will NEVER complain about it because I don’t want my daughter picking up that kind of stigma…So I am always doing something about things that make me not so pleased…I ordered P90X and started the workout…I am not doing the diet side because I already lost 61 pounds and I am thin….I want to tone…But the diet on the P90X WILL help you lose weight as it is pretty much what I did all on my own…It is VERY important to just drink water…You want all your calories to be in food that is going to make you full, not juice, soda or other drinks….You CAN DO IT…It WILL COME OFF…You just have to stick through it…Use food as energy…When you eat you shouldn’t come away from the table tired and needing a nap…You should feel light, energized and ready to go to your next event of the day. I had to keep telling myself that….”Food is energy” and when you start eating like that you realize how we have turned food into a social thing rather than something meant to nurish us…Fruits, veggies and lean meats…White meats…Keep watching your calories…I kept it under 1600 a day easily with lots of veggies!!
