4 babies by 22 has taken its toll on my body (Tanya)

Hello, my name is Tanya and I am 25 years old.
Just before I turned 16 I got pregnant. I was 110 ponds when I started my pregnancy and was 185 pounds at week 36 when I was induced due to pre-eclampsia. I had been swollen throughout most of my pregnancy but my urine tests showed that I had no protein in my urine and my blood pressure was ok. But at week 36 my blood pressure was 150/100. I was told that the baby needed to come out because if I had a seizure due to the high blood pressure it could harm my baby. My son was born at 6:30pm..and in the middle of the night I had a full blown seizure anyways and woke up in the intensive care unit. Luckily my boyfriend was staying in the room on one of those pull out couches. I was discharged after 7 days. My son weighed 5lbs 13 ounces. and had to be in the incubator and was tube fed due to the fact that he had no sucking reflex and was jaundiced. When I left the hospital I had gone from 185 pounds to 160. I got married to the father of my son 10 months later and we went on to have 3 more children. My first at 16, second at 18, 3rd at 21 and fourth at 22. I now weigh 210 and am overweight as well as have ALOT of loose hanging skin on my stomach and my abdominal muscles are separated…I hope to have this repaired at some point but I think I need to lose some weight on my own first. My skin did not hang like this until I had # 3. I hope that maybe someone else has a stomach that is similar to mine so they don’t feel like they are the only one and so I don’t feel like I am the only one with a stomach like this either. My kids are now almost 9, almost 7, 4.5, and 3.5 years..They are the light of my life and I love motherhood.

How tall are you just out of curiosity. I weigh the same as you and it kills me, but ive only had one child so you should feel damn good lol. Your still young and have the chance to loose all that weight esp if your not thinking of having anymore children, if you are you can still lose it. Just know that your beautiful regardless and you have 4 angels to show for your body.

I had my first babe at 20, before pregnancy I weighed in at 120. Now 10 years later and two babies I’m 215. I have the hangy belly that still makes me look pregnant. So you’re not in the boat alone. My husband still loves and tellings me I look great. So that helps alot. Maybe one day we’ll be able to tuck our tummies back into some slim jeans. But if not, at least we’ve got some beautiful babies that we gave our skinny jeans up for. :0)

For someone who shares my name…hehe..I think your beautiful, and what an amazing accomplishment. I was a young mother myself having my son when I was 18; to me that was a challenge and made me want to wait until 5yrs later to try for a 2nd. Kudos to you :)

Wow, you guys sure made my day with your very uplifting comments. I was afraid to scroll down and see the comments but they actually made me cry because they were so nice.
Amber, I am 5’2″…not very tall. I do not have plans to have any more babies. Soon, all of my kids will be in school and I hope to have more time to exercise and lose some weight. I don’t expect for my stomach to ever look like it did before, but I would like to see my skin tightened up a bit.Thank you for all your kind words, they mean alot to me!

Your skin looks to be so smooth! You are quite blessed in that!
I am also 5’2″ & I was 110lbs. Pre-Pregnancy (9years ago) and after 4 children (the last was 4 years ago) I am still weighing only 5 lbs. less than what I did the day I Delivered my youngest. I am about 165lbs. now despite eating fairly well. I am convinced that it will take alot of dedication & alot of Hard work (excersize) and when I am ‘ready’ I will go for it. & I will achieve my goal (to be at 140lbs.) But untill then, I am trying desperatly to be content in this temporary body. The skin roll I have is similar to yours. And unfortunatly nothing short of an abdominoplasty will completely fix it. But I have commited to do my very best to do All that I can to fix it on my own. I am just a procrastinator by nature though, I guess. LOL
Good Luck to you hon. You are young dont put it off like me. Our bodies sure are more resilient when we are younger! =)

You’re definitely not alone. I am within healthy weight range but my youngest is now 12 and I still don’t have a body that deserves to wear a bikini!

My stretch marks were so horrific that my obstetrician was even shocked. These days they have faded but will never be smooth. I also had muscle seperation due to my kids being very close in age. It improved somewhat in time as I lost a lot of the pregnancy weight.

I will never be a supermodel but even so I have learned to live with who I am. Good for you to be who you are. And something to remember for all of us is, if we’re not supermodels most of us weren’t before kids anyway! :)

You are NOT alone darling! I’m living proof of that! It sometimes makes me so sad when i see women who have had several kids with such amazing bodies.. flat stomachs.. no stretch marks!!
Some women are lucky like that – and some of us are not. But – we’re probably lucky in many other ways! I gave birth to my second 4.4 kg boy 7 months ago and now i’ve lost nearly 3 stones since then! Count your blessings and try your best to be as healthy as possible.

U need cardio and to drink more water. Water helps the skin to be more elastic, and cardio will help with everything else. I was a large child. At 5’1″ i was 180lbs. I was only 14-15 at the time. I was extreemly depressed and tried taking my own life several time. When that didnt work i switched my life around. I started karate class. It was 3 days a week for an hour and a half a day and randomly we would stay an xtra 30 min when everyone agreed. It hurt like hell at first. My whole body was so sore it took everything i had to push myself to go but i went, every other day, for the whole class. I started stretching and i even showed up early to hit punching bags. I lost 30 lbs in 2 months. Everyone in school was amazed. The positive reaction i was getting encouraged me to keeo going for 3 more years. I was down to 105 by my senior year of highschool, and i looked like a new person. I had drive energy, and had tons of support. People looked up to me and always asked for advice. I also dieted. I dont eat red meat any more cuz it slowed me down, i eat tons of carbs and junk food still tho, and im 32 weeks pregnant and this is the heaviest, at 145 ive been since then. If u really want to loose it u can, and will but u need to will power and self control to do it. If u are naturally a small person, there is no reason for the wieght to not to melt away with a cardio regimine. Karate got me started. All the other people in the class helped alot too by encouraging and helping me. I know u can do it if i did.
