Brittney
1 month after delivering a baby
Still trying to accept my body
My age: 19
# of pregnancies: 1
I’m a 19 year old mother and absolutely hate my new body! Before becoming pregnant I was a size 00 and I weighed 100 lbs! I am so depressed! I totally regret eating as much as I did while I was pregnant, and like the healthiest thing I ate was a cookie! If I knew what I didn’t know during pregnancy I’d do it all over again! I wouldn’t have gained as much weight as I did! I think that’s why I ruined my body! During pregnancy I gained 62lbs! I’m down to 129lbs and it’s been since March 2nd. I automatically thought I would go back to my size after having my baby. Little did i know I was wrong. I’m only 19 years old and I have stretch marks that cover my stomach. I will no longer be able to wear shirts that show my stomach or a bikini. I want laser surgery or whatever anything to get rid of them. I hate being body continuous. I’ve never been like this before! The pictures in the bikini and the yellow shirt by the car is before I had my little girl and the pictures in the black, and hoodie are after baby and yellow shirt and there’s a picture of what my stomach looks like :(
Ok so heres the scoop… You dont look very different from your before photos and you are only ONE MONTH OUT! I guarantee that by 1 yr pp you will be in just as good shape if not better. You need to relax about your body, eat right and exercise and you will feel like the hot mama that you are in no time. PS: your baby is ADORABLE!!
aww…well i think you look fine, you belly looks fine too, what doyou expect you had a kid..you look great for having a kid, i bet there are tons of women who wished they looked like you after a kid!
It’s only been a few weeks. Once stretch marks fade you can hardly see them. To be honest I think you look great the way you are now. Curves can be an asset!
here’s the deal: you look really awesome. i know the “not wearing a bikini” thing is hard (i had to come to terms with this too because of the stretch marks) but you start to realize it’s not that you CAN’T be sexy anymore–you can, but you just become more creative in how you do it.
My stretch marks looked WAY worse than yours do right now right after birth. they were huge, large purple things–now they’re a light flesh color. do i love them? nah. but it’s really your mind that is going to take some time to get used to this body change you’re going through. give it time and try not to focus so much energy on the negatives.
p.s.–i gained 60 pounds too, and i lost all of it over the course of like 4 months. you can do it.
You’re a MONTH post partum. Your uterus probably hasn’t even completely shrunk back yet!
You need to have realistic expectations. Of course you won’t be the exact same size right after having a baby, it’s just not possible. 9 months to put it on, give yourself 9 months to take it off before writing yourself off.
You’re beautiful and your daughter is adorable. You look INCREDIBLE for being only 1 month PP. Try to be patient with your body- you just had a baby and it takes time to bounce back! Stretch marks fade and with ab work, your belly will look great after just a couple of months if you work at it. I’d love to look like you, and I’m 14 months PP!! I gained a lot during my 1st pg- ate badly and didn’t exercise at all and totally regret it but you CAN get back to *about* normal. Meaning, you can be in shape, but your a mother now, so your body may not look like a babyless teenager’s anymore, but it will still look awesome. Your stretch marks are so shallow that you probably won’t even notice them in 6 months or less!
I agree with the others, four weeks is not long at all.
I took four months to loose the weight I gained while pregnant with my son (breastfeeding definately helped shed the pounds though).
Just eat healthy so both you and your daughter will benefit from the natural benefits of a healthy diet and you will have nothing to worry about.
You not alone, I feel the same way! I’m only 20 and I have stretch marks that cover my whole stomach! I gained 50lbs during my pregnancy and I totally regret it. I cant believe I ruined my body. I was a size 4 and was in GREAT shape. I’m so disgusted with how I look now. my son was born march 3rd so I’m 9 weeks PP and have 20lbs to lose but I hate the fact that I can’t wear a cute bikini anymore. I will do whatever it takes to get rid of my stretch marks!
You look good for 1 month, just remember it will take time to get back and shape and cross your fingers the stretch marks will fade!!
I usually don’t post coments… but i had to this time…
You’re soooooooooooooooooooo beautifullllllll…. Oh my God… If i looked like you i would be the happiest woman in the world…
Your stretch marks are so tiny,… in a few months you won’t even notice them, believe me…
And even like now, you’re such a beautifull and sexy woman…
I wish you could see you as others do…
Believe me… When i saw your photos i thought… wow… what a beautifull body and face…
You’re a month PP and complaining that you weigh 129lb? I highly doubt you were healthy at 100lb before; just from the one photo, you look MUCH more healthy now! Your uterus is still enlarged for goodness sake.
9 months to make baby, 9 months to recover!!! Or, for some of us, 9 years, LOL!
are you kidding? lol!!! Most of the women on this site would KILL to look like you do now! You look amazing.
I think that you need to stop and look at what life is truly about…and that’s being a good mommy to that baby! not looking great.
Im 19 and I had a baby girl 8 wks ago and I know exactly how you feel, I thought I would never lose weight and never get toned back up, but at 8 wks I have 7 lbs more to lose to get back to my prepreg…and yes I have stretch marks also, but tanning has helped them fade, and while they will never be all the way gone, as long as I am fit and toned and they blend in pretty well…I don’t mind. I am a Mom :)
You are too! And you have accomplished much more than those other girls our age who don’t care about anyone but themselves…YOU LOOK FAB!
You look amazing for one month and things will only get better, stretch marks are so frustrating but they will fade… just try to keep them protected from the sun for the first year or so they will be lighter and a little sun will make them dissapear!
..nothing wrong with stretch marks, and nothing wrong with wearing a bikini if you have stretch marks! i say go for it, embrace the old ‘home’ of your baby girl.
You’re a MONTH post partum. Your uterus probably hasn’t even completely shrunk back yet!
This. It will take about two to three months for that to happen. It will take time to get used to your new body. I hope you get comfortable in it. The idea that we’re somehow supposed to get back the bodies we had before being pregnant and giving birth is a myth. It won’t happen.
Being sexy is about how I feel, not how I look, or what size I am, or how much I’ve gained or lost postpartum.
Also, it could take a year or more before your body feels right again to you. It might be less because you are young, but I’m 8.5 months postpartum right now (at 31) and just starting to feel like myself again three to four days out of every week.
I wouldn’t worry about the weight. Your breasts will have grown (whether you’re breastfeeding or not), your body has changed; give yourself time to get comfortable with yourself as you are.
You are beautiful, and a mother!
hey girl its tamara..wow you do not look bad AT ALL!!! im so jelous…i would kill for me to look like that one month out!! u wait till a year girl u will be better then ever!! and as for stretchies those are not bad at all!! trust me…i so envy you!
LOL!! Girl! Are you kidding?! There’s nothing wrong with you. I know women who’s tummy looks like ground beef. You are only 1 month pp an your stretch marks are not even that noticeable. Eat right and excersize. Especially your abs. And you should be good to go. Keep in mind that you are only 19. You will have your body back in no time. You look great already so just iagine how you will look after a couple months of working at it. Also your baby is one of the most beautiful little angels I have ever seen. Those stretch marks were worth it!
1) your gorgeous. 2) I am 20, and look like you post pregnancy before I even got preggo, so you can imagin what I am like now :/ 3) love your body, you look great!!!
You are a gorgeous person inside and out . Don’t ever feel ashamed of yourself . Keep your spirits up and know that you are beautiful as a person.
Seriously? your seriously gorgeous! Id love to have a body like you do pp. I have not had kids and am bigger than you are…way bigger and I think you are truly beautiful…and your daughter will be a heart breaker.
I am a midwife so I see all types of pregnant and postnatal bellys. Take it from me, a huge proportion of women would LOVE to have your tummy once month post birth, some work years to achieve anything like it, some start pregnancy with something much much less tight and shapely. A few months of good diet and some moisturiser and yours will look like a baby had never even been in there, if thats what you want.
Hi! You look great! I am 27 and I have a 8 year old, a 2 year old and a 11 month old. With my first one I was about the same as you with size and then weight gain. I actually dropped to 104 lbs. 2 weeks after I had her. No stretch marks. After have my 2 year old daughter and almost one year old son now that were back to back, it has been harder to lose weight this time. I had my son 11 months ago and still weigh 135 lbs. I also gained a few stretchmarks on the hips. A few months ago I started using a derma roller to get rid of them and have had great success! some of them are gone and some have broken down and are filling in. I only had about 6 big wide deep ones that ran vertical on my hips. Now on one side I only have 3 left and they are all broken up and half filled in already. I use the roller once a week and apply 100% vitamin E oil. It really works! You do have to kinda firm with the roller, but if you want them gone, it’s worth it. A surgeon also told me that the best way to remove scars is with very intense massage. I think the roller worked best for me so far. I hope that this helps and please feel free to contact me if I can help. I don’t care what anyone else says. Stretchmarks are not permanent. I know from my own experiences. Good luck.
