Pregnancy and Postpartum Belly Photos (Anonymous)

I gained 33 pounds during my pregnancy and have lost almost all of it at 8 weeks post partum. I still have what looks like a 4 or 5 month pregnant belly (and don’t fit into my pre-pregnancy pants), with a dark linea negra and stretch marks around and under my belly button and on my hips… I’m still getting used to my new body and hope that the linea negra fades and that with exercise the belly continues to get smaller. I had a c-section (14 staples) and am pleased with how the incision is healing.

You look fantastic. Don’t worry about your belly not being totally flat yet. I can tell you that I was in jeans one size bigger than my pre-pregnancy size from about two months PP until about 18 months PP then my daughter began to wean, I cut back on my calories, and I lost 5 pounds. So at 20 months PP I’m back in my prepregnancy size. It takes time, it really does. You’re still healing. You’re still recovering. And you look fantastic!
Congrats on your delivery! I can’t even see the scar!!! It looks great!

Just taking a moment to look at some pictures and I decided to comment on yours.
You look great! If it is any consolation, I had 2 c-sections, gained 70 pounds each… yes, 70 pounds! (I am only 5’2″) And was able to get back to my fighting weight w/ a flat belly. I even got my belly pierced after my 2nd child. It took close to a year, however, it took close to a year to gain all that weight and produce a baby!
Take your time, you look great.

You look really amazing for being only 8 months pp! I had a c-section and it took me a while to lose all that weight. Keep up the good work!

I came across this post after searching for “look great postpartum” on google. Anyways, wanted to say that I’m right there with you, timewise, but I’d say I look more like your one week postpartum photo! I gave birth May 11 and am wondering when my belly button is going to become an innie again! Thanks for posting this and letting all women see that the postpartum period is a process, just as pregnancy was!

Are you kidding?!!! There are women on here that I am sure would KILL to have their stomach look that good, not to mention there are women that have never had children that look a lot worse than that.

Hi there. You look like you have the same metabolism and body type as me. (which is a blessing,as I have figured out over the years)
I have had four babies and am pg with my fifth now.
I didn’t worry so much about the weight loss or anything because my body takes care of that esp when I nurse. What always gets to me is that empty, yucky feeling for a week or two after giving birth. I sort of feel raw and used up after feeling so “full” with the pregnancy.
    I can imagine having a C-sec. doesn’t help.
Honestly, you look great and once you completely heal up and your linea negra fades you’ll feel better.
I always think that I look like I have ET’s belly right after I deliver!! hee hee.
Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing.

I am also on my second child and was fortunate enough to get my body back within a couple of months. I don’t normally workout too much and now 3 years later I’m starting to gain weight and it’s all in my belly area. Anyway long story short, I purchased a shaper from http://www.hourglassangel.com and it’s worked wonders. It not only helped me loose inches off my waist it also helps with back support. Love my shaper.

I think you look pretty good given the short length of time since you gave birth. Be patient, your body just needs time and of course exercise when you are ready for that. I have had four children and I am still in reasonable shape so don’t despair!

Oh I am 19 weeks PP and believe me I WISH my body looked like yours I put on 80 pounds and I gained the weight very fast (alot of fluid also) my belly looks 10 times worse and it looks like it kind of like yours only 10 times worse but on top of that my hips kind of hang because of the excess weight I gained (I am 157cm short) also on top of alllll of that I have stretchmarks on my breasts, belly, inner thighs, upper thighs, under but buttocks, on the side of my thighs, behind my knees and right along my hips which look like brabed wire. I am covered. I started off 125 pounds pre pregnancy and now I have managed to get to 154 pounds. All of this is with a very strict diet and lots and lots and lots of exercise. What I am trying to say here is that your body looks fabulous compared to mine and I would be more than happy to have my body like yours so dont stress u look fantastic :)

I just burst out crying after seeing one of the pictures above. My daughter is now five, shes a lovely girl. My body however, not so lovely. I lost my butt, and have a pouchy-pouch on my tummy. THANK YOU for publishing these pictures, I’ll have to accept that *this* is my body, accept it or not. I’ll never get my round butt back again, though honestly, if I had to choose between round butt, and wonderful daughter; she wins every single time.

Well you do look great and I am also 8 weeks post partum but was lucky enough not to have a c-section. Your problem is that you need to work on your tranverse and oblique abdominal muscles. They are the ones that wrap around your core to your back and ribs. They keep everything tucked in. Standing up straight and tightening up with your posture will help. By now you are surely heeled as this thred is old… but to the other c-sectioners out there… be careful not to do excercises until your muscles are healed. Lots of trauma there.

First of all I would like to say “Hi” to all the beautiful Mommy’s;) My cherub is now (3) years old.The pre baby figure I had could have given Beyonce or Rihanna a run for their money. When I became preggers I weighed in at about 166lbs (which was still a little chubber than my normal weight) Marriage can do that to you. Anyway, I went all the way up to 200lbs…yes…200lbs. My baby weighed in at 8lbs 13 oz at birth (and I had a c-section). I went through PP depression(which I never thought could happen to me). Being a stay at home Mother (with a Husband employed @ Whole Foods) all I did in my spare time was stuff my face.To make a long story short last year my Hubby surprised me with the Insanity workout. One night I placed me fears and grief aside put on my workout outfit (nothing special) and worked it out!! I literally felt like I was going to die. I was soooo out of shape since graduated from HS back in “03”. Each day (no matter how bad it felt) I went through eat dvd as instructed (in its entirety). I lost a total of 30lbs and now weigh 170lb. My ultimate goal is to loose 20 more lbs and I know I can get there. I don’t starve myself I just eat smaller portions, no junk food, sweets or soda. In place of normal carbs I eat whole wheat products. In response to Krista. Like I mentioned earlier I’ve always had an apple bottom but, after I had the papoose that bottom looked more like apple sauce (ahahaha. I am here to tell you I got my bottom back!!!! Swats are phenomenal. Please, take it from a NORMAL woman with a child…it can be done. I hope this motivates someone and God Bless;)

Hi I’m also 8 weeks pp. And u look great!!!! You can loose it all and tighten up. It can be done!! I was 145 prepregnancy and ended up being 205 at 9 months pregnant. While walking/jogging for an hour with my stroller and son , and eating right. I am now 178!!! Lost 26 pounds and still losing. Plus I breastfeed, you lose more weight by doing this!!! Motivation is the ultimate key here!!! You can do it!
