Teen Mum of One (Anonymous)

I’m 19 years old. Found out I was pregnant when I was 18 and turned 19 during my pregnancy. I felt really terrible about myself from 6 months pregnant on. I felt I looked so huge and disgusting and cried about it alot. My body after having my baby turned out not to be much better. I had gone from 154lbs to 188lbs and felt so awful. I managed to get my weight down and am now 148lbs but the stretch marks are still pretty upsetting. I really hoped to be able to wear a bikini this summer, after I had lost all the weight, but now I don’t know that I could show my stretch marks. My tummy is also a bit wobbly and yuck. I do definitely feel better though when I come on this site. I love how people aren’t afraid to show themselves as they really are. It makes you feel so bad when you see celebrities on magazine covers in tiny bikinis 6 weeks after their babies and they look perfect. It’s comforting to know that other people feel self-conscious sometimes about their post-pregnancy bodies. I am now 15 weeks postpartum and although I’m looking better than I did, my tummy is definitely not right :S . The first pic is me when I was 9 months pregnant and the second and third are me 14 weeks postpartum. I love my little girl to bits but still hard to accept my new body…

You look great! I look a lot like you… but I’m a year pp! Bikinis are over rated anyway ;) Although I think you could totally wear one! I am also 19, had my son at 18 so I know how it is when you want to “look” your age. Keep up the good work, you already look amazing! From one teen mom to another :)

14 weeks pp! You look great, sorry you feel so down on yourself… I think you look amazing and i can barely see your stretch marks (which are still going to fade a ton)! Keep your head up! ps. dont get yourself down about magazines, they are all airbrushed anyways!

you do know that all the magazines that have celebrities with their after baby bodies all on display are totally photoshopped…like the one with OK magazine showing kendra wilkenson holding her baby…THAT is so photoshopped…

Ok when I was reading this I thought I wrote it because I’m exactly the same I got pregnant when I was 18 and I had my boy at 19 and I started at 153 and now down to 140. But my body after I had my baby is so ugly I have stretch marks all over my stomach and its really depressing, I dont know if I’ll ever be able to wear a bikini in public.

Remember, it’s a celebrity’s JOB to look good, so of course they are going to do everything they can to look amazing the day after they have a baby. They’ve got loads of money to hire personal trainers and nanny’s to watch their children, not to mention plastic surgery! Babies don’t stay babies for long, and I’d rather spend that time with my little one than working out for hours. You look great!!! You can still see the definition in your hips too! It took you nine months to grow a baby, and it can take that long to get your body back!

Hey there! Just read your post and just wanted to say a few things. First of all, you DO look great. I became a mom at 25, and although I did not get stretch marks, I’ve struggled more from the weight end. However, many of my friends over the years DID get stretch marks, and all I can say is that as you get older (me and my friends are now in our 30’s), you honestly start to look at the marks differently. You start to love them and appreciate them. They show the hard work your body went through to create a gorgeous little baby girl. I look back at photos of myself when I was 20 – younger, thinner, etc…and all I can remember is how I didn’t believe I was those things. I was 130lbs and thought I was too big!!! Now at 32, I may weigh 170lbs, but I love my body more and feel more confident than ever. And nothing is more attractive or sexy than confidence. So try to be proud of yourself and feel GOOD about your self. Us women waste too many years worrying about our bodies, and if there’s anything I’ve learned in my 30’s, it’s that you only get better with age. :o) Take care and congrats with your little girl (I also have a daughter…so much fun!).

you look amazing…you could get away with a bikini easily (although I do not know why we have a bikini obsession!)…monikinis are totally cute and sexy…you could rock that! hotmiamistyles.com has some super cute ones! Your stretch marks are not bad at all and they will get even better. I think you look great as you are right now!
