It’s Our Anniversary!

Well, almost. :)

July 5, 2007 will mark one year since this website was up and running and I would like to celebrate with something special, but I’m not sure what. I mentioned this to some friends and they thought we might like to do an art “assignment” of some sort wherein everyone is invited to share their photographs, paintings, sculptures, poetry, etc of what motherhood means to them. And I like this idea a lot, but I’m not sure how to implement it. A new Flickr group? Where would the writing go? In entries here?

So I’m opening this up to all of you for some ideas. And I’m also open to totally different ideas as well. How would YOU celebrate the birthday of SOAM?

I don’t really have any suggestions but I want to let you know that your site is a godsend for women that have been hurting for too long. This is a great support system and I have lots of love for SOAM.

This site is one of my all-time favorites. I wish more moms- and just regular people too- knew about it. To celebrate it’s anniversary I was thinking a card… a card posted on this site that people could email to everyone they know, inviting them to view the site? I know nothing of interent logistics so I don’t know if it’s feasible or even a good idea, but it seems like a great opportunity to further spread the word about this great site!

I don’t know about anyone else- but I tell EVERYONE about this site.

I think it would be suiting to having an entire post composed of the most encouraging words SOAM members have submitted with their stories- the truly inspirational ones- to re-share- refresh- and continue on encouraging women to love their bodies for the most incredible task accomplished.

I think it should be called a “birthday” instead of anniversary!
