Hi. After viewing the other pictures, I feel brave enough to post mine. As a precursor, here is what my tummy looked like my senior year of high school.
photo

I was 19 when I got pregnant with my son. I was never a skinny girl, but I was not fat either. My mother didn’t get stretch marks, so I assumed I wouldn’t.

This is me at 39 weeks pregnant. I gained 47 pounds. I have scoured the internet and I have yet to find someone with stretch marks this awful. But each and every one was worth it.

And this is 11 months postpartum.

And 12 months postpartum, 4 weeks pregnant with #2. I am a little scared of what this second baby will do to my belly, but I will deal with that when the time comes.

I just have to tell the owned of these pictures that I have the same story. My mom gained 80lb and not one stretch mark, I gained 19 and had ones just like yours. Mine even broke open and would bleed. They are still kind of deep and sometimes even hurt. My son is almost 7 now, and I tell him they are from him and he is proud. I had to more babies and it didn’t add any more marks. your right about it begin so worth it!!! Be Proud!!! and know your not alone :)

I have to thank you for posting these pictures. I had stretch marks from hell (not unlike yours) with my first (my mother and sister did not have any) and now I am 12 weeks along with my second. I am terrified… but knowing that I am not alone… and it is common… make me feel a lot better! Thanks!

You could be me. I couldn’t even bear to take photographs of my tiger stripes when they appeared one day, late in pregnancy with my first child. My stomach now looks much like yours too. You are not alone. And neither am I. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the kind comments. They mean more than you will ever know. It is so wonderful and empowering to know that there are many of us dealing with this, and it makes it just a little easier to be proud of my mama body. Thank you.–owner of the pics.

Thank you so much. This site has me in tears, it is time to share this stuff with other women. I have/had stretch marks just like that, too. Thought I was the only one.

I find the stretch marks quite beautiful. Yours look like beautiful flames.

I have them too! It’s been 5 1/2 years, so mine are faded now. I never took any bare belly pictues for that reason, but you are not alone…and neither am I. Thank you for sharing. My second didn’t add any new ones, but she did make the existing ones a bit longer, even though I only gained 12 pounds with her. Contrast me with my sister who is one of those no stretch marks types. Go figure.

I was ok with them below my navel but when they got above that I cried. then the one on my thighs and but. those itched for weeks. plus the small ones on my boobs. most have faded now but I have not lost the 20 pounds left of my pg weight. slowly. Thank you.

Wow this site is amazing and shocking! I am very concerned (more than i really let on) about stretch marks although I already have a few on my breasts and hips prior to my first pregnancy at 35. I regulary oil and lotion my tummy and I hope that because of my prev weight gain and losses my skin is stretchy enough to withstand the baby stretch. It is funny because my husband is asking my why I am worried about stretch marks! I am always more concerned about the state of my body than he is. He is a wonderful confidence booster! Anywho- Thanks.

Your postpartum belly looks exactly like mine. I, like you, had a beautiful stomach before I had my girls…and now I am so loose and saggy. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone. I just wish that I didn’t have weird buldges and “muffin-top” everytime I put my clothes on! LOL!

Your stomache is still quite flat. I would be willing to bet that you could smooth some of those out with a topical cream. It won’t make them go away but may improve the over all look of your skin.I heard cellilite cream works wonders on saggy breast and bellies. Best of luck judgeing by the date this was posted you probably already have your new addition!

Thank you for posting your pictures…I gained 36 lbs during my pregnancy and I got deep, sore stretch marks all over my hips and strangly enough – my inner thighs which I never even thought of. All worth it when I look at my daughter, just amazed at how such a small little baby can do that. You look Fabulous!!!!
