8 Months Post C-Section (Anonymous)

I LOVE this website,, and all you wonderful mothers out there! This is my third submission. I had my first child May 2010 via unplanned C section. A wonderful, beautiful, healthy little girl! She brings so much joy to all that she comes into contact with,, ready with a huge grin for everyone! She makes me smile on my worst day,, and overflow with happiness with each kiss and hug. I have to say that I am so proud of the lovely woman who created this place of support and refuge. And I think that we all deserve to be supported, encouraged and welcomed. I tried keeping up a little diary/photo album of post pregnancy progress on my Facebook,, but got soooo much flak and discouragement that I stopped. Please NO ONE take this wrong,, but it seems that if you actually feel good about yourself and have been working hard on being healthy and getting strong and in shape,, that that is to not be recognized. Only judged with harsh words. Thats why I am so thankful for you all on here! I am working on becoming a certified health and fitness trainer and now teach classes at a Studio. I feel like I could be an encouragement to a lot of women. I am going on 32 and had my first child by c section less than a year ago, and am back to pre pregnancy weight and feel so energized and strong and blessed.I just want those out there who may be feeling down,, hopeless and who are probably being way too hard on themselves,, to know,, that even if it takes different ways or lengths of time, that you CAN feel like, and be a healthy, fit, strong, sexy MOTHER! We are all shaped differently and have different beautiful traits (and wonderful “flaws”) that make us unique. I just feel like sometimes some women have this stigma in their head that they aren’t supposed to want to feel vibrant and sexy after they become a mom, and that is so not true! I want to encourage you all to take pride and joy in what your bodies have accomplished in motherhood and to realize its your ONLY body, to love it , nourish it, strengthen it and when the time and place are right ,, flaunt it a little!! :) Have fun with motherhood and with being a woman! GOD Bless you all!

I remember your first post…it was all about how you never thought you were pretty, and you thought you would have to settle since you were ugly anyway…glad to see such a turn around n a short time! Confidence is great mama!

wow i had my baby 8 months ago as well and i look nothing like you, me being a short overweight woman of 26 i was not in shape before i got pregnant, i was fat and short and when i got pregnant i showed fast, everything got bigger, i already had large boobies, but they got even more bigger (and saggier) i ended up having a c section not by choice i did not want that ugly scar going across my already ugly stomach, now its 8 months later and i have what people call the ugly big “skin apron” i wear a shirt and you can tell my stomach hangs there,a big flap of c section mess, it sucks so much. YOU look amazing, how is it someone older can look so good compared to someone younger? I wish i looked like you, you canstill wear a bikini (i never have ever) why do some women getall the luck?

You look fantastic! You were certainly blessed with the ability to ‘bounce back’ with no loose skin or stretch marks!. *drool* I’m committed to losing the weight (I was tiny and active pre and during pregancy, but still gained 75 lbs and had a nearly 10 lb baby)and I feel a lot better about my body since beginning to be more active, but I’ll never be able to look anything like pre-pregnancy after a nearly 10 lb coming out of my 5’1 frame. So, I try to focus on what I can change: weight/health, instead of what I can’t change: twin skin and stretch marks.
Goodluck with your certifications on becoming a trainer!

You look great! Congrats on your baby and getting back into shape! How did you get your stomach so toned? I had a section in July and have lost all the weight and am back in my pre-pregnancy clothes. But even though my tummy was tight and flat before getting pregnant, it is still a little flabby. Any suggestions?

Don’t know if we’re allowed to post specific workouts because of advertising them… BUT I am a Zumba instructor,,,, and I have NEVER seen my stomach get toned so fast!!! Not even with four weeks of ‘Insanity’! Find a GOOD instructor around your area,,, It sooooo fun and a great Zumba class will burn about 800 calories in an hour and really tone your abs and legs! Good luck :)

    Hi Tiphanie,
You look amazing! I just went to this site to get inspiration that I can have a great stomach again after a c-section and you are the one that gave it to me! I work out constantly, cardio, I’m a runner, spin, lifting, but my stomach muscles don’t seem to want to catch up to the rest of my body. I know you said you do Zumba, but what specific ab exercises do you do and do you do them daily?

Hi, you did a fabulous job. I am from India. I wanna ask you that how should I get my pre pregnancy body back. It’s looking very tough for me. I am 26 years old and I delivered my son via c-section. I am 5ft 5 inches tall and my weight is 67 kilograms. Also I am breast feeding. And Can we get flat tummy after a c-section?
Please Please help me get back in shape.
    Thank You
