Dear Shape of a Mother,
I wanted to add my photos. I had a 30 inch waist and it grew to 47 inches with my first child. I had no idea how extremely painful stretchmarks are and I feel sorry for anyone to endure the pain of them along with normal pregnancy pain.
But then the baby comes and it?s all worth it. I am a mother. I do not need to go around looking trampy in small clothes, giving the message to other women and a future daughter of mine that women are only attractive in the tightest clothes on the smallest bodies.
I am woman, I am mother, hear me roar!

You look great! I had those same stretchmarks when I was pregnant.. mine itched like crazy! And you look A LOT better than I did 15 months PP… Your skin snapped back pretty quick! Even your 13dayPP shot you can tell. You look awesome!
What a fabulous sequence of photographs. I wish I’d had the confidence to take more of myself. PS You look much better 15 months post partum than I do 25 months on… but it’s just a case of having 2 physical reminders of childbirth, and one doesn’t throw tantrums!
Your pictures are beautiful, but your attitude, in my opinion, is not. You do not “go around” looking “trampy,” you say, so as not to be a bad role model for your daughters. I would much rather teach my daughters not to be so judgemental of other women. I’m sorry you feel the way you do.
I didn’t find what she said to be judgemental. I intrepreted her to mean that there is more to a woman than merely the shape of her body. I think we should take care to be very tactful here, without vocal inflections, etc, we might come across as more rude than we intended.

and i agree with the shape of a mothers comment: it seemed misinterpreted and even if it wasnt, i do get tired of looking at too much of anyone elses skin in public, male female hot or not so much. i’m all about being yourself but i’d like to think there’s still such a things as modesty and decorum.
