I found out I was pregnant in April of last year. My husband and I were very, very surprised but excited none the less! I delivered my baby on Thanksgiving day. We had planned a birth center natural birth but when our sweet little one was a face presentation all plans changed. This was the first face presentation the hospital had seen in 10 years. We were told time and time again that I would need a c-section but my body kept moving forward and our nurse was on our side (not calling the doctor in very much!). Eventually she told me that I was fully dilated but that I would need to wait to push until the Dr. could come in…well that didn’t feel very possible at that point. She then said “if you ignored everything I told you and just let your body do its work, eventually the baby would come out.” then she left…and we pushed. After just 20min of pushing (and the dr. quickly brought in!) we had our perfect little girl.
I am still adjusting to my body. I have hated my body for my entire adult life. I thought that maybe I would love it more after having my baby, knowing just how powerful it is. But that has not been the case, I can see that it is doing its job and doing it very well (EBF and my baby is growing like a weed!). But I am still sad that my breasts are so uneven and my stomach is riddled with stretch marks. I will never look the same again and I am trying to heal my wounded heart and learn to love this body. Thank you for offering a place where this healing can take place. I just feel sick and huge and I am hoping that by getting out there and posting this I will stop feeling so revolting.
Age: 23
# of Preg and births: one
Age of baby: three months (13 weeks pp)
You look really good, especially for only 13 wks pp. In time you will tighten up and the marks will fade.
well.. since yur only 3 months post partum… give it another 9 months! lol im serious thogh that is how long it took my body. it does get there just be patient. but so far you do look great! just keep workin on it beautiful moma :)
you look awesome!!!!! For real! I hope you can someday see what the rest of us see.
What the heck, you look awesome! the stretch marks and line will fade….you look amazing for being 3 months pp girl, congrats! I had to have a C-section and was so bummed about it, but you body looks great, I am 9mo. pp from my baby girl and still struggling with my last 15-20lbs! since the weather is nice I have been walking ALOt, so we will see wish me luck lol. Great job = )
You look great!! You have very minimal stretch marks and you don’t even look like you had a baby!! Wow you don’t even have the pooch like most of us do! Lucky! Your very hot!! Good job :)
u look great! that’s not too many marks, they will soon fade – u can try rubbing pure shea butter and/or pure coconut oil – this helped mine fade a lot.
Your body looks like mine pre-partum, and I was thrilled with how I looked. You have a small waist, and those few stretch marks will fade. It will take some mental adjustment (not bodily), but take it from some objective observers that you really look slim amd well-proportioned!
One thing you are NOT is huge. You’re only 13 weeks post partum and look how flat your belly is. You have no saggy skin and once the stretch marks fade, nobody will ever know you had a baby (as for the uneven breasts, mine were like that before I ever had a baby. Taking birth control–which you can’t do while you’re BFing–helped A LOT to even them out. Good job giving your little one the best nutritional start possible!)
And you have the coolest looking stretch marks ever (I never thought I’d say that!) They look kind of like angel wings. I know that’s random but it’s the first thing I thought when I saw your pictures!
Aww, you look great! And the stretch marks will fade. I had mine a lot longer than any text said would happen, but they’re definitely not the purple they once were. As for your body, it took a while to get to the point of delivery, and it takes a while to get back, but you can get it back.
Hang in there and don’t be so tough on yourself.
You look SO good! You have such a flat belly! You look like me now and I have a 1 year old! Just wait and see how awesome you will look in just a few more months. It took me about 9 or 10 months to really love and appreciate my new body, it has done so much and brought an amazing new person into the world. You should be proud, and enjoy your new little one!
I think you look pretty great. I didn’t get stretchmarks with pregnancy, but when I was a teenager I had them all over my breasts. I was so ashamed, I thought no one could ever be attracted to -that- and how disgusting it was. They were EVERYwhere. It looked like a raccoon had gotten to me.
One day when I was about 17 I noticed they were dramatically lighter- still everywhere, but lighter. 19 and they were just sort of silvery white lines. I’m 25 now and don’t see any trace of them.
When I had them (starting at around age 12) I had no idea they’d go away some day, so I developed a really bad body image. They got worse for about four straight years, even though at 13 I thought it could not possibly get worse (they were very, very bad already). I used no special treatments, I thought I was doomed to a life of turtle-necks and never being able to ‘be’ with a man.
I probably would’ve had a better body image if I had known they would almost certainly go away, or at least to a point no one would notice.
Yours look like wings, though. And again- at 3 months pp, you look quite good. Actually, for Americans you look good for any time in your life : )
I think that you look amazing…to be perfectly honest, your tummy is most likely envied by women who haven’t even had a child! I think it looks great; not to mention your waist is tiny.
As for stretch marks…they fade with time…after they have faded, go soak up some sunshine and get a nice tan! Exfoliation, vitamin E, lots of water, and all natural almond oil are a must :)
Your lovely!
You are gorgeous.
I think that you have a wonderful body!! Look how flat your tummy is!!! Those stretch marks will fade and if they do stick around they will lighten I have had them since I was 13 I am a tiny person never over weight and still have them all over my love handles, hips, thighs, and butt. =) I think that we all are unhappy with our body at one point in our lives at least and after child birth it changes so much. I know that you will grow to love you body. In 3 more months I will be able to post my story after having my little man.
i think you’re amazing and you look fantasic! esp. for 13 weeks out. most women would kill to have your body! please don’t take it for granted.
13 weeks post partum and you look that good? WOW! :) and nobody’s breasts are perfectly equal anyway…. you have really nice breasts by my standards :)
My tummy looks a lot like that! I am 3 weeks pp and my skin is quite a bit looser than yours, but I hope my tummy looks that great at 13 weeks pp!
