Hello! I became pregnant @ 17, married my husband after we turned 18, and gave birth to a gorgeous 9lb 6 ounce baby vaginally. 36 hours of labor, and 3 hours of pushing, he was sunny side up, and they had to cut me. :(
I’m now coming to terms with this new body, all the new stretch marks on my tummy. I’m 5’11 and have never been tiny obviously. I was 170 pounds before pregnancy, and maxed out at the end at a wopping 218 pounds. I carried him pretty well, in my back. I didn’t get big or stretch marks til the end of my 8th month. I have a love/hate relationship with my body right now. To me when I look in the mirror I think I look pretty good for just having a kid, but then I start to look at the stretch marks, or where my perfect legs were before, now replaced with larger than before thighs and calves. Chubbier arms, and back fat.
Ahh! Being like this at being 18 sucks, but looking over this site has helped me cope so much!
And of course having my little baby, theres nothing better than having him suckle and hearing his little coos and seeing him smile.
My husband has not yet met his son because he is in the airforce at technical school and wont be home til march. He actually had to leave during my labor to go back after christmas break. I’ve sent him pictures and he compliments me all the time but I’m still nervous for our reunion.
I haven’t yet weighed myself which I think is a good thing. Thank you for everybody who has posted, it has helped me so much!
i know exactly how you feel. my husband, who was in the army for 8 years, but is now civil service; he still deploys every year to iraq and other countries. he left when my son was 5 wks old and didnt return until he was 5 months old. He was gone the majority of my pregnancy with my daughter and didnt return until she was 3 mths old. Currently he is gone. He has missed all 2 birthdays for my son and is going to miss our daughter’s first birthday. It is a hard lifestyle, but you learn to adapt, which I am sure you are finding out. Trust me, that reunion will be very exciting and it will be like you meeting each other for the first time all over again! You are the mother of his child and you have been taking care of, I presuming by yourself. He no doubt loves and respects you for that! Besides, you look great! You just had a baby 4 wks ago!
I look at this site regularly, but I have never commented on it. I felt compelled to comment on you because I too am a young mom. I had my daughter 4 months ago and also gained a good amount of weight. :) about 50 pounds (yikes!) It is going to get so much better from here! It seems like once I hit 3 month pp, the majority of it just fell off. I am currently 135 and 5’7″ and I started at 128. Stay positive! I think you look great and in the long run this is such a short amount of time
You look wonderful!!! That must be really hard to have your husband be away and taking care of a newborn, especially since he had to leave while you were in labor! I hope there is someone there helping you:) You are young and healthy and I wouldn’t be surprised if you repost is a couple of months and so much of your preg weight is gone. Good luck with your reunion, it will be great!
umm…you look great really, iam tall too, five ten…we are lucky cause its easy for us to get back in shape, i think you look great, you could wear a bikini to the beach for gods sake, like now!
I’m sorry to hear your hubby hasn’t seen your baby yet.
You look beautiful. You have great legs–which I am jealous of!!!–And a beautiful body! You are blessed! Congrats!!! :D
You look great! 4 weeks is not a very long time. You look like you’ll bounce back. Just give yourself time and take care of your baby and yourself. I really admire you! Your husband too! That can’t be easy.
OMG! You look AMAZING!! 4 weeks ago really??? Insane!!! I had mine 7 years and 3 years ago and not even close to looking like you!!! Enjoy and cherish your new curves, you look HOT! Your husband is in for a womanly treat! ;)
