So i am a first time mother of a beautiful baby boy named Christian, and I’ve always struggled with body issues. My name is Pam and i am 3 1/2 months PP. Growing up i always had weight issues but once i was diagnosed at the age of 14 with Hashimoto’s Hypothyroiditis and heart palpitations i began taking medicine and the weight dropped off. Before getting pregnant i weighed 110 lbs and thought that i had areas to improve on, but really i didn’t. During my pregnancy i gained 60 lbs but really didn’t notice it until after i gave birth and looked at the pictures of me. I guess its something to do with the belly that makes you feel good in your own body. But after giving birth to a healthy 6.6 lb baby boy i found that i wasn’t that skinny girl anymore and i had terrible stretch marks ALL over my belly. It defintely hasn’t improved my self esteem issues but the way i see it i’d rather have stretch marks and be able to get that flat stomach back than not have stretch marks and have a floppy apron. So far in the past 3 months pp i have lost 33 lbs and and still going strong in the weight loss dept. I contribute the first 20 lbs to having postpartum baby blues. Unfortunately i didn’t take pictures of my belly right after birth, but i do have them so far at 3 months pp, and glad to say that if you do exercise it can get better. I know i have a ways to go (28 lbs left) but it can get better. As for the stretch marks, they are starting to fade but i see them as an accomplishment of my miracle that i was given. I will try to keep up with the pics of the weight loss. But by no means do i think i have the upper hand on anyone who’s had a baby and has to deal with the belly and stretch marks. I respect those who are willing to sacrifice the perfect body for a miracle.
OMG! Your son is so freakin cute!!!! I love his hair! you look fabulous snd your belly will shrink nicely.
OMG!!!I was diagnosed at 14 as well with my thyroid disease. I thought I was the only one to get diagnosed that young. You look great and your son is adorable!

omg!! first off your son is the cutest thing ever!!!! WOW!! but i too…have the same exact belly…and im slowly accepting it…but ur stomach looks like it will go down very nicely…mine did…but im left with loose skin now :(
i never comment on babies, but this one is JUST TOO ADORABLE!!! ohmigod. you are blessed. and give your tummy time to go down. it WILL go down a lot more than you think, believe me.
OMGosh!!! Your son is ADORABLE!! What a beautiful family!! You look great sexy mama!!
no worries, it takes time, but your body will keep readjusting back to a similar state of being as it was prepregnancy. you’re one sexy mama and your baby is ri-dic-u-lous-ly key-ute!!!
Your son is too cute, love the hair!
YOU AND I ARE JUST ALIKE, BUT I HAVE NO THYROID AND I HAVE HAD WEIGHT PROBLEMS MY ENTIRE LIFE. MY BODY IS STILL FLOPPY 11 PP. ITS HARD AND YOUR SON IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE
You look GREAT! your son is adorable, and since our sons share the same name I love that too :P
working out is the key ! the stomach cant shrink back if you have fat under the skin. although it does take longer to shrink back with stretchmarks b/c theyre scars but it will not shrink its self.. you have to work out!
This is the first time I make a comment, your son is soooo CUTEEEEEEEE!!! I bet you get that a lot but it made actually want to comment.
Thanks to all those who thought my son is cute! And i will defintely try to keep my pics updated. They have changed a little but i’ll wait some more to change them. : )
Your son so ADORABLE!!!
Trust me that you just had your baby and things improve with time. From my own experience, I gradually got smaller, etc. over time. Just recently, at 21 months PP, I lost another 5lbs out of nowhere. So it does continue to change over time. Even at 2 years PP. You look beautiful and I love your wedding photo. You have a beautiful endearing face! :D
I feel like I could have written this post. I often feel vain for wanting to be a skinny girl again. I too am 3 months postpartum. And, after struggling with fertility for several years I finally got pregnant! I was so happy and healthy the 60 pounds didn’t bother me at all. But Now! I’ve only lost 20 so far and I am exercising like a mad woman. I love my girl (your son is freakin’ adorable by the way) and do fee a bit guilty for my vanity but dang, I wanna be a yummy mommy!
In fact, Ifound your blog while searching the net for reasons why this weight isn’t going already!
Take Care and good luck. I know we can do it!
I’ll be checking back for sure.

Momma, You know what you are so right. I have always struggled with my weight and appearance and I was 122 and got up to 180 when I was pregnant. I didn’t notice it either because I was so happy and felt cute because of my belly. :) — Then I gave birth and went the bathroom and looked down and all I saw was stretch marks they go all the way down my legs, they are on my belly and hips. It’s horrible.
But you are RIGHT— If I can have a flat belly/abs and nice legs. and flaunt my body with my battle wound scars. so be it. I hope your doing great and looking fabulous to your own self. Stay up momma. If you ever need someone to talk to, you can always email me. I need a momma to talk to! :)
Wow, you are really pretty! And your son is the cutest baby I’ve ever seen! I love your great attitude about the weight. Truly an inspiration!
