As you can see we are changing our look over here. Please bear with us as we get all the kinks worked out. It sure is pretty, though, eh? I’m so excited!

Looks awesome, LOVE IT!!!
I love it!!!
The new layout looks great. Just a suggestion though, its a little annoying to have to open each post to view the whole thing. I noticed that before when I would try to view the archives, everytime I wanted to see a post I had to open the individual post instead of just clicking on May 2008 and seeing all the posts. :)
I am so excited to see this new design, it is really cool.
It looks great!
I think it looks FABULOUS!:)
I think it looks fantastic!
Wow! I was pleasantly surprized! Looks beautiful! I love the black and white pics!
Wow! I love the new look, it’s great. The black & white is awesome & I am in love with the photos at the top! Great work.
I miss the old design! I don’t like change that much, but I absolutely love the website.
Yay to the new website. It looks great, and the pictures truly represent the mothers of the world.
I think the new look is great! And I’m glad you have some ads on your page and your site will get the financial support it deserves. It just bugs me that all of them seem to be for weight loss and diet pills when I and many other women view this website as a form of encouragement for positive body image. Those ads look really tacky. Maybe you could find other advertisers?
Adrienne, I don’t see any ads for diet pills? BlogHer Ads (to the right over there) *is* currently running an ad campaign for Weight watchers so those ads may appear at times, but from what I hear WW is a reputable company and I don’t personally see the conflict between finding support in loving your body and also wanting to be at a healthy weight. As I am learning to love my body at the weight it is, but still want to lose weight for many other reasons (the way I feel, risk of diabetes, etc). Does that make sense?
As for the Google Ads on the home page I have not seen anything negative there, but I am not allowed to click on the links so I cannot go through and check all of them. If anyone happens to click on a link and finds it inappropriate in relation to this website, please send me the company’s name and I will have them blocked.
I must be the only one who thinks the black is depressing!
It looks great! My only complaint is that I have to click “continue reading” to get the rest of the post. It’s so much quicker to just read the whole post on one page. :)
Really like the new design, but as a woman of color the absence of pictures representing different races is really glaring to me. Would it be possible to substitute at least two in the five above?
Christine, there is one photo up there of a black woman. Believe me, I tried to make it as diverse as possible. I searched Flickr for photos and asked the photographers if I could use them and I also took some of the photos myself. Unfortunately I did not find a lot in the way of various shades of skin. Living in San Diego, I figured I could find some Mexican mamas to pose for me, but no luck. I do plan to keep my eyes open and if it is ever possible to make the photos even more diverse, you bet I will. I hope that helps you to feel better?
And, Sandy, I fixed that. I think?
Bonnie, thanks so much for your quick response! I do see the black lady now (# 2?) I guess it was hard to tell with the b/w aspect of the pictures (excuse the pun!) Thanks for the website, and keep up the good work!
