Goddess on the Highway

This is about what I looked like before I got pregnant. I gained 100 pounds during my pregnancy.

This is me labouring.

Touching my son’s head while waiting for the next contraction so I can officially meet him.

Meeting my son for the first time. The huge stretch marks, the saggy breasts…all worth it.

My son’s first meal. Beautiful.

I have about 60 more pounds to lose (currently 7 months post partum) and I don’t have any recent pictures that show my body but when I do they will be posted.

This blog makes me feel so much better. It makes me happy to share my birth photos with women who will see the beauty, and not the “flaws.”

I LOVE this photo-essay! That is the most touching set of photo’s I’ve seen regarding birth; they are so naturalized and normalized and beautiful! Thank you for sharing these with us!

This is an amazing project!Turn it into a book!I always thought we should put the amount of weight we gained on the announcement cards not the baby’s weight. That was my badge of courage to eat and enjoy my pregnancy. I gained 55 pounds, I lost it eventually. Then gained it back years later. I was too thin anyway as young women, now I’m old enough not to want to be thin. 100 pounds with one baby you’re an amazing mama! Your body will go back to a natural weight that feels good to you.
