My sister just had her gallbladder removed a few weeks ago. The bruises are beginning to heal. It looked so painful and I know she hurt. That’s a lot to go through in a short amount of time… pregnancy, childbirth, and gallbladder surgery. I hope you’ll be feeling well soon! And congrats on your new baby!
I had the same thing happen to me! Mine was taken out at about 7 weeks pp. It was hell to go through all the attacks. I know your pain! I hope your surgeon was good, because mine left some stones loddged and I ended up need a second surgey!
I had my gallbladder removed 2.5 months after I had a c-section with my first son. The bruises fade and so do the scars. My scars are hardly even visible. Get plenty of rest!
Ouch! ((hug)) Hope you have a speedy recovery!
You look fantastic (aside from the wounds) for six weeks! Your tummy is quite flat already! Lucky girl! I hope you heal fast!!!
I am a nurse and we have so many women come in after having a baby to have their gallbladders out! Really common! It looks rough now, but give it a few months and you will hardly be able to tell! Plus you will feel physically so much better having those gallbladder problems gone. Good luck!
I just had my gallbladder removed in October. I healed really well and I found the hardest part was getting used to my new scars.
I had my gallbladder taken out a few years ago…and during the surgery they pump up your stomach with air so if you’re wondering why it’s sticking out more than usual, that’s why! Once the incisions heal up they will fade to tiny little scars…no one ever notices mine. Keep active (walking around etc), because it really does help the recovery process. You’ll feel great in no time, it’s amazing how quickly the pain after surgery goes away.
I too had a similar experience. I was 34 weeks along when I started having really severe back pain. I thought the baby was on my sciatic nerve. It hurt so bad. I tried doing some exercises to get him to move but the pain just got worse. I thought it must’ve been back labor after that. I went to labor and delivery where I sat in a room for 6 hours until they made absolutely sure that it wasn’t. They moved me into a room and gave me very strong pain meds. Nothing was working for the pain but the baby was strong and healthy and happy. Then out of the blue my right side got very hard. The nurse came in and felt my side and calmly left the room saying “give me one second” Suddenly I had the charge nurse, two surgeons, an OBGYN and about 10 other people crowded into my little room. My husband and I got very worried because they told me that they wanted to do emergency surgery because they thought my appendix had burst inside of me. So out they wheeled me 10 minutes later, and down I went with the anesthesia. Turns out that my big baby boy had squished and completely cut off the valve that goes from your kidney to your bladder. So an hour or so later I had another surgery to put a stent in. It was the most excruciating 6 weeks of my life waiting for my little meatball to finish cooking and have the stent taken out. But well worth it :) My scars have healed pretty well but are still purplish. I have one very high up that looks a bit stretched but it’s only been 8 months so I’m hoping they get better with time.
