In the first pictures I was 31 years old and 10 months postpartum. My breasts are anyways uneven but they looked particularly funny after a one-sided breastfeeding. You can see my deformed bellybutton in the background. I didn’t know what the large lump under the skin an inch above my bellybutton was, but thanks to comments on this site, I went to the doctor and it turned out to indeed be a hernia! (Thank you!!) A year later I had it surgically fixed. I was told it was a “pregnancy hernia,” in that my baby was very big and my muscles were excessively weakened by the pregnancy. The doctor told me if I had worn a belt in the end of my pregnancy to give my tummy extra support, and if I hadn’t lifted so much after the birth, then I could have avoided it. I consider my new scar as part of my pregnancy wounds along with the lopsided breasts and stretch marks and saggy skin. I don’t mind because I know that almost every woman I pass in the street has marks of her own hidden just under her shirt.
most women have breasts of slightly different sizes,I do. Maybe a more flattering camera angle would make it less noticable? Your belly looks good by the way!!!! Nice and flat.
Are you nursing just on one side for that feed? Then, the other one is bound to look a little larger, though as your child gets older, your body should be in tune with his needs. If you were to pump the other side, what would happen? Or do they look like this all the time? If, they look this uneven all the time, or are more than a cup size different, you might just want to get a quick exam at the doctor’s. Same with the belly button. Could be a hernia. Usually harmless.
My breasts are also quite lopsided, by more than an entire cupsize and of course it was noticeable when I was breastfeeding children. I lean over and look just like you.
What was funny is that my smaller breast always produced far more milk than my larger.
Depending on what I wear I’ll stuff one side of my bra but I’m long past where I care.
That lump? I’m not a doctor or anything but it looks like a hernia. Not an uncommon thing, or even a serious thing, but you should have it checked.
That lump above your navel may be a hernia – at your next doctor’s appointment, ask!
I had to smile at the little hands grabbing at your nipple, so sweet! Which breast did baby just nurse on? Does he/she only like the one or nurses from both? I think you look dynamite! They’ll even out eventually when you stop nursing ;-)
I looked at my breasts in this position the other day on accident and I freaked out! I was like, “I look like a cow with udders!!” LOL So I think that if you look at them normally (standing upright), they’ll always look better. And I don’t know one women who doesn’t have one breast that’s bigger than the other. ((I also think that men’s testicles are uneven like this too! ;-) ))
Great job breastfeeding… looks like your baby wants some in the pictures!
Embrace yourself hun. You look beautiful.
i know what the little bump is- its simply a small peice of fat- they are genetic and i have had one there since i was about 11. with women you hardly ever get more than one-and always in the spot you describe. my dad has lots all over the tops of his arms-makes him look really muscled :P
Your breast look fine.
I think it is hilarious that your baby wouldn’t let you be topless without trying to get at your boobs…. that is probably the most precious thing about breastfeeding :)
My daughter is two and a half. She still asks for boobie juice. We just weaned. And yes, I looked like that after nursings. :)
I laughed at the first picture of baby grabbing for mommy’s nipple! My baby pinches me periodically if I don’t put my shirt back on right away. It’s heart melting and cute in a vaguely irritating sort of way–like most baby quirks.
Also I laughed because I love that women post their boob pictures with this very unflattering angle! *chuckle* It’s very “worst case scenario” of us.
Anyway, my breasts are always a bit lopsided after breastfeeding too. I’m wincing and holding my bigger one right now (mine is the left). Thankfully, I’ve never gotten the inclination to look at them at this angle (and I will pass because I don’t believe any woman sporting their real god given boobs–much less MOMMY boobs–can look smokin’ hot at this angle).
YOU are still beautiful though. Lopsided boobs and all. And men, bless them, love boobs. All boobs. Any boobs. Big, small, real, fake, perfectly proportioned and even lopsided. It should be their motto.
But, moreover, you should be proud of these boobs. They take care of your baby like nothing else in the world can.
And after they’re yours again (with the occasional pinch from baby, perhaps) they’ll look better. Sensational even, in a nice, lacy push up bra…remember sexy bras? That will be nice again.
Keep on keepin’ on, Momma. You’re doing just fine!
thats what i look like too after nursing. i think it’s totally normal.
My boobs hang like that to, but you look great and I like how your kid made an appearance in the last photo. It’s quite funny!
Mine sort of look like that too, but see how much your baby loves them!?
thats how my boobs are!!im 20 with a little one about to be 1 and still breastfeeding.on a good day they wont be so uneven but most days they look like your pic up there.it feels nice not to feel like your the only one.i thought i was some kind of freak.Thank you for posting this up. :)
wow. I just got done whining to my husband that my boobs are funny looking. They look just like yours! (he said they look normal by the way) That’s amazing, your pictures. Thank you for posting them, they help me feel beautiful about my body, to. Your baby is cute! My son is just like that, all over my boobs. He calls them “squish squish”. Lol.
