I stumbled on this link almost by accident on a pregnancy message board. I’m 27 and pregnant with my first baby. I’m excited. But I also just found out that I will most likely need a c-section. I’ve always had a flat belly until now, so the baby belly was a bit of a surprise. At first, I just felt fat, but now I feel like I look pregnant. My husband keeps telling me how much more beautiful I look now that I’m pregnant. It makes me smile and realize that I’m very lucky to have a man who realizes that beauty isn’t just what he sees on tv. I’m scared though about the scar the c-section will leave and if I’ll ever get back to pre-pregnancy weight…I wasn’t very thin to begin with. I’ve always just referred to myself as curvy and act like I love my body, but sometimes I wish that I looked more like a movie star or model. I hope that I can learn to love my body more, especially now that its going through this wonderous process of making a baby.
Why would you most likely need a c-section?? you know, sometimes those drs are scalpel happy for no good reason :(
You look great! Models and movie stars aren’t perfect either :) They have the luxury of having their photos airbrushed.
I just had my first baby (twin boys) at 32. I posted my short under Fraternal Twins in the twins section. I worked out 4-5 days a week (walking) and watched what I ate. I also had to have a c-section. The scar doesn’t bother me much at all. It’s a little harder to get your body back after a pregnancy, but it’s not impossible.
Good luck!
I had a c-section with my first baby…the scar these days are so low even in a tiny bikini you dont see it. plus when i look at how wide it is, i’m shocked they got a baby out of there! enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
Thank you, thank you!!!!! For submitting your story! I find there are very few women from the ‘late 20s’ age-group that submit on this site; most women who post here seem to be very young or were very young when they started having children. Since I know that I will likely have my first around the age of 26 or 27 (I am currently 25, married for 4.5 years), I am happy to finally find someone I will be able to relate to. I’m eager to read your posts in the future about your journey through pregnancy and post-pregnancy! Please follow up!
Yes, I’m also curious why you need a C-section?? I “had” to have one with my first. Turns out it could have been very easily prevented with the right prenatal care. I’d get a second opinion!
I’m glad you found this site, too. It’s a great site.
You do look beautiful! Never forget that! Models and actors are often photoshopped and caked with makeup, so never let that cloud your vision! We are all unique in this world. It’s what makes us human. We all have a unique concoction of chromosomes, genes, and cells. We are all different. And that is what makes us so special. It’s what makes YOU special. If we were all cookie-cutter super models, we’d be plain, normal, every day, blah. I even find super models to be blah when we’re all different, KWIM? You are perfect and beautiful!
Congratulations on your first baby, sweetie! It is so exciting!!!
