Age 25
Pregnancies 2
One 5 year old and currently 18 weeks pregnant
Previous post here.
I was in top shape at 133 and toned and decided I wanted another baby. We are having another boy. And at 17 weeks I feel fat, and ugly… I fear that I will become depressed as I did with my first child. Worried that my body will become worse , I worry about each pound I gain, and just want to be able to work out to loose it again… I feel horrible that I’m not loving pregnancy as I do crew first time, just critical of my body all over again.
1st – progress over the two years before 2nd pregnancy last is 130 lbs
2nd photo – 1 month
3rd photo 4 months
It’s so hard to see our bodies go through these changes in pregnancy. I know my reassurances won’t do much for making you feel better, but I’ll try anyway: before you know it, you’ll have the most beautiful pregnant tummy, perfect, lovely, full of life and then you’ll have your son in your arms and it’ll take a while, but within a couple of years, your “before pregnancy” picture will again be your “after” picture. Try not to focus on the things that bother you, but instead focus on how beautifully feminine you look and are. You’re exuding motherhood. That’s beautiful and always will be. :)
I think you look beautiful in that last photo (obviously, you looked great pre-pregnancy, too, but I truly think you look wonderful now). My husband and I are planning on trying for our 2nd child this summer, though, and I totally understand your feelings. I’ve had body image issues most of my life, and I’m freaking out mentally about what another pregnancy will do to my body. I’m in great shape now (not quite as toned as you though :-), and lucked out so much with bouncing back after being pregnant a year ago that I’m scared of how I’ll handle it if my body doesn’t rebound as well this time. It helps to know someone else has the same worries.
You truly don’t look heavy in the least; you just have an adorable little belly going there, and I hope to be half as lucky if I get pregnant again.
You look great. There is nothing to be afraid of. Continue your same habits as before; eating healthy and moderate exercise daily and you will snap back in no time. Congratulations and wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy
I think you look pretty good. You will get back in shape before you know it. Just get back into your routine as soon as you can and and you will feel you were never pregnant at all.
You might feel fat and ugly right now, but you know you’re not, right? You’re beautiful. And you’re working a little bit of magic. You’re growing a person!!!! A little person who will love you unconditionally, no matter what. And it is SO worth it in the end. If you had PPD after #1, hopefully you’ll recognize the signs and get help before it gets too bad. And I KNOW it’s a long road to get back to the body you went in to this pregnancy with. I’m in the best shape I’ve been in since 2008 when I got pregnant with our first. Slow and steady, right? You are obviously feeling SO discouraged. But you figured out how to lose the weight previously – you’ll get back there. And I doubt it takes you as long as it did the first time. In one of your posts you said that if you’d have figured out your carbs and stuff you would have probably lost the weight sooner. You can test that theory. And I know we’re all different, but the only additional changes I had after my first pregnancy (with #2 and #3) have been a couple more stretch marks. Try to enjoy those baby kicks, even if you can only convince yourself to do so for 5 minutes a day…. Say ‘hi’ back to that little boy who keeps reminding you he’s there. Hugs and healthy pregnancy mama!
I experienced the same issues when I was pregnant with my youngest. The single most important thing I did to help keep the worry to a minimum was to only have myself weighed at appointments. No weighing myself at home. At the appointments, I told all staff that I would step on the scale backwards and they were not allowed to tell me the numbers. I continued to exercise responsibly and eat healthy food. I hope this helps you figure out how to control your thinking about those numbers. As an aside, I think you look fabulous in your pregnancy photo.
I have loved all of your posts…I have marks like you, and you give me hope to be hot again someday!
I am expecting my 3rd child (I am 26 years old and 15 weeks pregnant with baby # 3…technically baby # 4, but I had 1 miscarriage).
I think you look hot! I do not see any extra fat, just a very cute baby belly. You wanna see extra fat, you should see my pregnant body! 2 cesareans has done a number on me!
You look great!
