Smokin’ Hot (Katie)

Smokin’ Hot! (Katie)

Age: 36
Pregnancies/births: 11/3 (8 miscarriages)
Ages of children: 4.5, 2, 2 weeks

My son is two weeks old today, and as I was about to get in the shower (yay, shower!), I saw myself in the mirror and thought, I am smokin’ hot! I should submit pics to SOAM! So I got my eyepod and took a couple of pics. Don’t think I don’t have stretch marks; I just don’t have any from pregnancy, which given my losses, makes me sad. All 3 of my children were born by spontaneous, unmedicated vaginal birth. The scar on my belly is from the burst appendix I had at 20.

Photos are my henna belly at 37w4d and front and side views 2 weeks postpartum.

Love the confidence, we need more role models like this. Proud moms who aren’t “models”! But I am more interested in the story behind 8 misscarriages, I’ve had 4 and only one child. Sometimes I don’t think trying again is going to be worth it. Katie if you could let me know how you dealt with the losses and kept going, I’d love to hear from you.

The female body is an incredible form. You are gorgeous and strong. It’s amazing that our bodies can stretch as expand to accommodate a tiny human then birth that human and then look awesome still!

    Katie,

You rock!!!! I wish more women were like you! We should love ourselves, how divine/awesome are we all yah know?! You are a beautiful woman. I had an unmedicated vag birth with my son (2yr old) too, and it is such a neat experience! Felt like a gladiator afterwards! Every woman should come out of childbirth whatever their experience and choices feeling like that for sure. Enjoy your new addition to the fam and keep it up mamma!

Eight losses! You’re amazing. That would break me inside, probably… but then again, I suppose you keep going for the lives of your little ones. You grieve, of course, but go forward because there is still life.
    You are lovely. :)

“Smokin’ Hot” is an understatement! Great to see a natural ‘real woman’ displaying your self-confidence.
