Talking about our bodies is vitally important. Nearly all of us struggle with body image, but we generally suffer in silence rather than speaking up. Silence can be poisonous, particularly where self-esteem or traumas are involved.
Being willing to enter a “brave space” and be vulnerable can be life saving in many ways.
By speaking openly about our feelings about our bodies, not only can we begin the healing process, but we can also grow above and beyond in our psyches and our understanding of ourselves and of our place in the world. In my experience, living a lifestyle where these body-positive conversations become a daily occurrence, leads to overall higher self-esteem. Doing the work daily keeps the growth moving forward.
