Stephanie

Thank you for this website. What a fantastic idea and confidence booster! I’m 25 and my first daughter is now 7 months old. I had hoped to lose the pregnancy weight by now, but I am having a hard time sticking to a healthful diet. I weighed 135 when I got pregnant, and I was happy with my body for the first time in a long time. I weighed 175 when I went into labor, but a lot of it was water weight. I got down to 150 pretty quick, but I’ve just teetered between 145 and 150 ever since. I HATE the way my butt has changed, but I’m thankful that my stretch marks stayed below my belly button, and that my skin isn’t too saggy. I just really want to get rid of those love handles! I wonder how my body will continue to change as I have more babies. But it’s all worth it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED being pregnant. It was probably the happiest time of my life, and I can’t wait to have another one. I love my daughter with my whole heart, my husband loves my body, and I love my life. In the end, it’s just skin.

These are pictures of me 7 months postpartum.

The 7 month post-partum picture is beautiful. Think about it: being pregnant, making a baby, is the most intense physical experience any of us will ever experience. I’ve done marathons, done triathlons, nothing compares to the physical changes and stamina of growing and delivering a baby. Of course our bodies show the signs of that afterward. It’s only natural. I love that this site lets us be proud of that, instead of embarrassed. FTW.

You look fantastic in all of the pictures :) Want to lose weight? Do what I did with my last pregnancy and put the baby in the stroller and walk, walk, walk! Good times all round, babies loved it and it gave me a goal. Get out for a walk! (Not to mention it tires the wee ones out and they are good to go for a nap ;)

You look great in all the pics. I really like how, between your 6 weeks and 30 weeks pics, you can see how your breasts grew and your nipples darkened. I wasn’t fully prepared for how dark my otherwise light nipples got. They stayed dark while I nursed for a year – I was afraid they would stay that way! It just looked so weird to me because it just wasn’t my body, kwim? After I was done nursing, they returned to their normal-for-me color. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Stephanie,You must be around 5’8″, because I also teeter around 150 and my body looks *identical* to yours. I’m 27, have a 10-month-old, and I, too, was hoping to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight by now (which was 140)– but so far, it just ain’t happening!Anyway, the nice thing is that you helped me see the beauty in my own body today, because I look at your tummy and think it’s simply beautiful– and if we look just alike, then what’s not to love about my own? So thank you for that; you’ve made a difference by posting your story. You definitely made a difference to me.

“In the end, it’s just skin.”This SO needs to be a CafePress t-shirt. Those are truly inspiring words. And you look positively gorgeous…
