I think this site is beautiful and brave. I had my daughter 15 years ago. I still remember almost every detail, there is nothing as amazing as being pregnant and giving birth. Although my birth was not perfect it was beautiful just the way it was.
I had been anorexic when I was younger, so being pregnant was really a different experience. I gained about forty pounds but it was fine and well worth it to eat well for my baby.

I understand how we women hate parts of ourselves and obsess on them, as if they were the reasons we are unhappy.

It is hard to accept ourselves as we are because are programmed by our society to value ourselves only in perfection. Nature however has a very different idea of beauty and is much more diverse and accepting.

I belong to a group of people who also believe in learning to accept ourselves and others exactly as we are. This is a way to world peace and to finding our true selves. We use photos and drawing to help us change the way we look at the world. It amazes me that just by accepting some part of ourselves we dislike or hate, we can change so much, for us as individuals and for women in general. Mothers are awesome and learning to love ourselves as mothers is a good start to healing the hurts women-kind has endured. Shining a light on secrets heals all of us, and changes our vision of life. I invite you to see our web page, it is called “Draw my body”.

Thank you for taking the initiative to start this much needed path of healing.

I hope we can begin a change that lifts us all up to self acceptance and loving instead of separation and criticizing
