Trying to love my new body (Anonymous)

I just gave birth to my beautiful perfect baby girl 3 months ago and Im having the hardest time accepting my new body. I know what came out of it is so worth it but its so hard in this world today with all the “perfect” celeb and model bodies. The world makes it seem that “perfection” is beauty…well Im one of the many women who have real bodies and I just wish I could learn to love it.

I don’t understand why women get so hung up three months after having a baby? You look great and it seems sad that you would focus on your image– one day your daughter will see your distress and focus on herself..time to stop this cycle.

Hey you look a lot like me!! im 21, and right now 3 mo postpartum and trust me, its a struggle for me as well. Though im not too hung up on it, i want the stretch marks to fade more and i wish i was firmer. I dont care what the scale says or what size pants i am now. You look great, give it time itll only get better!

Give yourself time. It’s like someone handed you a new outfit that you HAVE to wear. You get no say in it whatsoever! But trust me, sooner or later, it’s going to grow on you, and eventually you’ll be thankful for it! :)

I feel exactly what you are saying! I am 3 months pp as well and gave birth to a baby girl. I have stretch marks just like yours on my hips and also on my abdomen from about my belly button down.. I get SO down on myself for not bouncing back perfectly and for not looking like a model. It’s really a disease what the media does to the image of women by sending messages that beauty is a flawless body… I am just so glad to hear that another woman feels the same way I do, and I find comfort in that. Us mothers have to stick together!!

Your body is beautiful. You may think you will not get your body back to the way it was before you had your child I assure you the you will.It took me 6 or 7 months to get my body back although i had some stretch mark on my belly, they faded with time but i danced everyday and eventually after a few trips to the tanning bed i was back to normal. But you look great after just 3mths!
