My Belly 2.5 Years After…

I gave birth to my Gorgeous son Logan 2.5 years ago on dec 29th 2005. I went from 9st up to 12st whilst pregnant and am now down to 10.5st, I am definatly not happy with the way my belly looks now, covered in stretch marks and saggy soft skin, that no matter what I do it won’t tone up – maybe it will eventually but I feel like I am running out of patience! The first picture is of my belly about 2 years before becoming pregnant, the second is at 40 weeks pregnant and the rest are 2.5 years post partum. I’m 25 but sometimes I think my belly looks like that of an old woman!! I am so glad I have found this site though as I now realise I’m not the only one with body issues. Thanks!

You are a beautiful woman! Your little boy is so beautiful!!! Nobody’s body looks like it did before they got pregnant. And you look just beautiful!

My advice is to throw away the “before” photo… that was the body of a girl. Pregnancy changes us all. Now we are women with larger, more profound purposes in life.

    God bless

I think you look fine. I had a belly like yours before getting pregnant and now I look similar to how you look now.

It’s hard when you start out looking the way we did. But one of the entries I read on this website changed my outlook.

It said, ‘I no longer have the body of a teenager because I’m not a teenager, I’m a mother. I have the body of a mother’.

I really liked that perspective. I wouldn’t want to be a teenager again. I’m kind of proud of my stretch marks – I don’t mind who sees them really. If anyone ever asked I’d proudly say that they are a reminder of how amazing my body worked and created such a wonderful little being as my daughter.

I wear my stretchmarks like beauty marks in a way now. I didn’t get them because I was careless, or overate etc. I got them because I was pregnant.

Mark Twain once said of wrinkles, ‘wrinkles are reminders of where smiles have been’. I guess, in the same respect, stretchmarks are reminders of where life has been.

Don’t sweat the small stuff – your son looks like a really cool, happy, healthy little man!

google diastasis. many moms have this (gap in the stomach muscles) and regular stomach exercises make it worse. you have to fix the diastasis before you can work on firming up your belly.

Its not like an old woman, im dealing with the same thing. Ive now declared war on the mid section jiggle, im cutting my meals in half and not drinking more than a cup of pop, and ive began rollerblading every evening when my daughter is asleep. You can do this, its just a question of when your ready to declare war, and mean it. You are still beautiful, very! Keep your chin up, you dont know what your capable of accomplishing!! and regardless, you are beautiful, congrats!

i think your belly looks great!! I just had my baby 3 weeks ago and i am okay with my belly but i got horrible stretch marks.. and i have tried everything to get them to go away. If i could just get them to fade a lil i would be happy.
