Melissa’s Story (Melissa)

Hi fellow mommies. I recently was looking on the internet and came across this wonderful site. I kinda felt like I was the only woman in the world that had two babies and had a body like mine. My belly seems to sag and I just cant seem to cope with that. My husband is so fit and I feel so unfit. I eat very healthy and exercise daily. Ive recently started the workout program Insanity. Ive lost 12 pounds. I still have 3 weeks to go. Its a 60 day program. So I guess thats not bad. My youngest is 6 months and my other daughter is 2 and a half. With both of them i went up to 190. Im down to 157 right now but I just dont feel sexy any more. Im 24 years old and feel so unhappy with my body. Do any of you ladies have any advice on how to tone up the belly? All photos are from Sept.26th 2010

You look excellent for 6 months pp! Losing the weight just isn’t easy for many of us, unfortunately. However, I think you have done wonderful.
When it comes to toning the stomach, it may not get too toned, at least as far as the eyes can see. Many of us hold the extra saggy skin for longer or forever more even. That is the problem I have. My muscles are toned, but you would never know it just from looking at my stomach. I have a lot of extra skin that covers up the hard work I have done.
I wish you the best though, I am positive you will lose the rest of your baby weight :) Keep us updated!!

You look awesome! I am also a mommy of two and I work with a personal trainer, for my tummy she suggests planks and alternating crunches (bicycle crunches) because they work all of the muscles in your abdomen. I have heard of the Insanity workout, it seems to be agreeing with you! Keep up the great work, you look beautiful (I can not believe you have a 6 month old!) :)

Your abs are toning up quite nicely! You’re brave doing insanity. I have it, but I am doing hip hop abs to prepare for insanity cause I’m scared lol! Keep up the good work mama!

i had 2 kids and remained in tact with my flat belly, but i was skinny and had a flat belly before…i often do leg raises..ly down on the floor and legs straight and lift them up ..do 30 of these, once in the morning and afternoon and night…you WILL see a dif, i know. you dont look bad though, you look pretty good to me.

You look amazing! Your abs, especially your obliques, look very toned to me, and you’re only 6 months out. At the end of your program, hopefully you won’t need anything else! I feel the same pressue with my spouse because he’s so fit, but they haven’t birthed anyone so there is no comparison!

I used Jillian Michael’s 30 Shred to tone the transverse abdominal. It is the reason for my pooch. It helped. I’ll always have a wee bit of an apron, but I am happy with my overall shape.

I see a beautiful body with really nice curves. I understand the feeling of feeling like you are the only one with a body that has been “reformed”. However, you are gorgeous just the way you are. Acceptance is key to sexy.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! You are curvaceous and look amazing. :)

I know exactly how you feel. It’s funny because I weigh the exact same… 157 lbs. Why is it that women allow themselves to be ruled by a number on a scale? Why can’t we measure ourselves instead by the love we recieve? As long as your husband, children and family love you that’s all that matters. I used to stress about my body too, I mean I would walk by chocolate and gain weight. I was making myself and everyone else around me miserable. So what if I’m not a size 4? My husband thinks I’m beautiful either way. My son smiles every time he sees me. My tummy is stretched out, doesn’t look the way it did before I had a baby and it’s still amazing. I’m glad this website exists. I think women should celebrate themselves more and not worry about trying to be more like the women in magazines. That’s not reality. The women that are in this site are real.

You are beautiful chica and don’t you forget it. ;)
