Destination : Self Acceptance (Tee)

Age: 26
2 pregnancies
2 children ages 10 and 18 months

I’ve posted here before under “Almost a year later“. Its now a little over a year and a half since the birth of my youngest. And I gotta say I am still striving to love the body that has become me. Despite my best efforts my weight is still stuck around 160 (i’m 5’6) so according to BMI I am overweight. My breast are pancakey and a lil asymmetric and my nippies are stretched out from breast feeding both boys. My body is plagued with stretch marks – head to toe. But I am a mother strong and loving who would not change a thing at the expense of my boys. Happily married to a man who loves. What more can I ask for, right? Maybe one day I will be content with my body but until then I will keeping waiting to reach my destination….Self Acceptance – are we there yet?

I agree- you look fit. You have nice round hips too. I’m 7 months pregnant now and I hope my tummy and butt both end up looking like yours when I’m all done.

you look awesome, we are almost the same height and weight and close in age. I can really relate to you. I have a pretty bad perception of myself…I hope I look at good as you. You are gorgeous!

we are body twins! mind you…my boobs are a little bigger and saggier, but I am also struggling to accept my curves, hips, butt, and thick thighs. Funny thing is..the things i am most self- conscious about are the things my husband finds most sexy about me. You look beautiful exactly the way you are…don’t worry about some arbitrary number…as long as you and your children are healthy that is all that matters. And your body is gorgeous!

Just wanted to let you know, I heard that BMI has been under critisism, as it does not reflect what is right for everyone. You seem to confirm that BMI is a load of rubbish! No way are you anywhere near over weight. I was badly ill with annorexia in my teens, yet my BMI said I was in the “normal” range. Ignore it, I do!!
    You look great XXXXXX

Your body looks almost identical to mine, I’m 6ft tall and weigh about 190. I’m 4months pregnant now and seeing how beautiful you look after 2 makes me hope for “my body” back again. You look AMAZING mama!

Stop looking at BMI. If you can fit into your fave jeans, that’s all that counts in my book. You look beautiful and fit!!!

I think your boobs look great! They both seem to be the same size which is more than I can say for my own! And as for the BMI, who cares what it says, from your pictures I can see that you look healthy and not overweight at all.

I am so glad you were brave enough to post this, despite the way you feel about yourself. I feel like I’m looking at pictures of me, we are virtually identical. I’ve got the stretch marks from head to toe also, and the stretched out nipples from nursing, and I hate my breasts (they’re no longer perky). My children are 3 and 5 years old, and I look the same. Its been 5 years and I still can’t get used to this body. I miss my youthful one and I’m only 26. I would get plastic surgery but its expensive, can be botched, and you still end up with scars- so whats the point? You look great though, and at least you have a husband who loves you. I’m a single mom afraid to date because of my messed up mother’s body.

My stretch marks are pitch black and disgusting. I hate then and constantly search the internet for stretch mark creams.
