Confidence took a blow! (Lizzy)

Age:23
Number of pregnancies:1
7 months post partum

Im from South africa,im 5″2 and pre pregnancy weight was 110lbs.
I loved my body.

Then April 2008 i fell pregnant with my first baby,a girl.My body changed but i didnt get stretchmarks, which im very gratefull for,i grew alot,my tummy was huge.
I gained 33 lbs and im currently 139lbs,which im not happy bout. When i look at myself in mirrors i start to bawl.

Theres just no time to exercise now.My husband loves the way i look.

But i dont.I love my daughther to bits though.
How can i make myself feel better bout myself?

Its amazing knowing my girl grew inside me,but cant accept the way i look.

The first pic is me 8 weeks pregnant(its says pre pregnancy but i didnt have a pp pic so i just use this one)

Second one is me 37 weeks pregnant

Third and fourth one is me 7 months pp

You bawl when you see yourself in the mirror now?! WOW! I thought I was bad… you don’t even look like you’ve had a baby, atleast I couldn’t tell from your pictures!! You really do look perfect.

why cant you exercise, try going for a walk 30 mins a day. I had my baby 3 months ago and lost all the weight by walking and like you didnt get stretch marks (thank god :) ) but i did walk 30 mins a day and now im 120 at 5 foot ten…i look better now i think. It can be done.

From the pictures I honestly can’t believe that you weigh 29lbs more then you did in your pre-pregnancy picture. The 2 side view pictures look about the same. You DEFINITELY don’t look like you weigh 139 @ 5’2″!

Try not to stress about it, you’re only 7 months post pregnancy. The weight will keep coming off!

Jessa… It’s great that you lost weight after having your baby, but honestly 120lbs at 5’10” REALLY doesn’t sound healthy, you might try at least adding a little muscle.

You look great. They say 9 months to put it on and 9 to get it off- you still have some time. Your little baby cakes is a cutie :)

(Ashley- what’s unhealthy about 120/5’10? Would you be concerned about “health” if she were 220/5’10? I thought we weren’t doing BMI around here…)

A great way to ‘exercise’ while doing your regular life, is to ‘babywear’. Your body will burn more calories while you waer your baby in a sling, mei tai, wrap or other carrier that ties her to you. You don’t have to do anything specifically—just walk, walk, walk, do your housework, go up and down stairs, etc, with her on your back. It’s awesome!

Your stomach looks really good. I’ve never had kids and my stomach is pretty much like that. the only thing i would do is just wax the treasure trail, otherwise i think you have the pp best stomach on this site so far (no stretchmarks and no bulge).

You look awesome! And Desigirl, I am 99% sure that isn’t a treasure trail but rather the linea nigra still left.

You look like I do after my babies are born…is all your weight also in your butt and thighs? I usually keep the weight on while nursing until about 10-11 months postpartum when it just sheds off and I get really skinny, to the point my breasts deflate and I really don’t produce much milk any longer as my fat supplies are diminished. Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure you will also lose more weight if you’re still nursing…it’s important to keep some extra pounds on while nursing!

Hey Jamie :) they are talking about Jessa being 5’10 and 120,, which IS very thin,, but maybe you are just very lean. I know a BEAUTIFUL girl who is 5’8 and over 200, and is healthy,, she’s currently working on losing some of it,, but she eats better and works out more than some ‘skinny’ girls i know. And it also depends on shape,, these girls at 4’11 and 5’1 weighing 115 and looking so trim,, im 5’0 and am quite curvy at 106 pounds!!! and Lizzy? you look Wonderful! :)
