A New TV Show

I just watched a preview of a new (to the US) show on Lifetime called “How to Look Good Naked.”

I was dubious at first due to the title – it sounds like just another show about dieting and/or weightloss and I think women get enough of that already. But I was pleasantly surprised. A better name for the show might be “How to Feel Good Naked” for the basic idea is to learn to love who you already are. It is a makeover show discussing how to buy the correct bra and how best to dye your hair, and in that vein it’s superficial and not very original. But it sure is refreshing to see all these bodies that belong to real women. And not only that, but to see these bodies proclaimed as beautiful!

I feel kind of silly posting this, sounding like a commercial, but I really think the show might be of interest to many women who check this blog. I believe, in a small way, the revolution has begun to change the way women view their bodies.

Anyhow, check it out – it premieres on Friday, January 4, at 9pm (8 Central).

I LOVE this show, I always feel so positive after watching it, seeing all the women on there and knowing that they and we are the ones that are normal and not the actors and celebrities on the other shows.
One thing though is that I havent seen any women with stretchmarks, maybe there was some in episodes I haven’t watched but I think that they should be prepresented too.

I am from Scotland so we’ve had How to look good naked for a few years now and I absolutely LOVE it! The man who helps these woman is called Gok Wan and is such an inspiration to me. What a wonderful person. I am not the kind of person to discuss someone else’s business however nothing in this show is about vanity. Gok himself suffered from obesity reaching something like 20 stone. He managed to lose all his weight and now looks gorgeous! He really truly understands how us woman feel with our parts we hate and he sure knows how to make us feel beautiful! Just watching his show has made me very very proud and I even learned how to enhance my assets!! Hope you all enjoy the show!
