24 Year Old Mom of Two Boys (Anonymous)

Age: 24
Number of births: 2
2 boys, Age 2 & a half & 3 months.

This is my body 3 months after having my SECOND son. Both births I experienced were vaginal & natural. My first son weighed 7lbs 10oz. Second weighed 8lbs 9oz. I gained about 60lbs during both pregnancies.
I weighed about 135 before ever becoming pregnant, NO stretch marks, PERFECT boobs. My body returned ALMOST to normal after having my first. (Breastfed him for 20 months.) I lost all the weight when he was about 6 months- but it took a LOT longer for my belly to look almost normal…… That happened at about 13 months. Since it’s so early to tell after 2nd baby, I’m wondering what YOU all think of this body? Is this extra skin or will it go away once I lose the remaining 15lbs????!

(the first 3 pics are me, normal, the LAST 2 are me when I tighten my stomach) So I’m wondering if it looks like that when I tighten my stomach, will it look like that if I do tons of situps??????

I don’t really see “extra skin” per say, but if you work on your stomach along with cardio it will improve.

I had my first 11 months ago and I don’t really have “extra skin”, my skin is just much stretchier than it ever was before. I can pull it out in all sorts of directions, but at 5′ 3″ and 108 lbs, nobody knows how stretched out my skin is UNLESS I pull on it. Haha.

I think you look great for 3 months pp. You have nice curves that I wish I could get!

First off, you look GOOD!! 3 months is not long at all and I see definition in your stomach that I certainly did not have 3 months postpartum!

Second, do NOT do sit ups!! It will make your stomach look worse! Google The Tupler Technique and maybe pick up a Lose Your Mummy Tummy DVD or take a workshop if you’re wanting to make a change. :)

I think with some core work, your belly will tighten right up. Pilates, yoga, planks, walking while pushing a stroller standing up really straight (instead of hunched over like most of us do) are all really great for getting at the harder to reach muscles all around your midsection that crunches alone don’t touch. It’s about tightening things up in your belly, sides, and back, that is what really gives you strength and stability. You look awesome!

It’ll definitely start to look more like that if you do ab exercises. But don’t just do sit-ups – find all the creative ab exercises you can. Sit-ups, crunches, leg-lifts, planks, weighted sit-ups, twists, hanging crunches, etc. – the more ways you work your abs the happier they’ll be!

Whats great is that you have the ab line defination still on your stomach. I think more cardio and different typs of situps and your stomach will look perfectly fine. Honestly your tummy doesnt look bad at all for 2 kids and gaining that weight during pregnancy. Good luck and post more pics in the future

Im a certified Personal Trainer, and ab work is not going to do anything superficial to your body.
Your abs are already separated from pregnancy, and countless crunches, or whatever will only slowly get the core strong again.
Lowering body fat %, is the onlyway to see abdominal muscles, or flatten the tummy area.
Intense cardio and strength training and a great diet is the only way to get that bod back.

Hope this helps, you do look great though

Completely agree with Nicole. Of course sit-ups and crunches was the first mistake I made. A little later after that I found out about The Tupler Technique and Lose your mummy tummy. The Tupler Technique helped me sooo much and closed the gap in my tummy and helped to heal it faster. I wore a compression band for 5 months straight and even my stretch marks and loose skin got better! lol So i still have a tiny bit a skin left and working out but its 10000 times better than after I had my second child!
