17 months after birth (Anonymous)

June 4, 2007

I gave birth to my gorgeous son Logan on 29/12/05 weighing 8lbs 15oz, I was 22 then. Before i got pregnant, I had a really flat toned tummy which i was really proud of. I got pregnant – didnt have one single stretch mark until i was 6.5 months pregnant and they all started to appear over night! all over my belly and my legs! Now, 17 months later im trying to get my belly back and to be honest I am not happy with the way I look but like this website says – I AM THE SHAPE OF A MOTHER! and my son is worth this 100 times more! I love him to bits! My partner is very supportive and says im gorgeous but its very difficult to believe when i look at my pre-pregnancy pic and then look at my post-pregnancy pic… Big difference. I’m glad I have found this website and I know im not the only one in this situation!

I had a nice toned flat tummy too. Ive got it back flat, now Im just working on toning it back up.
I got bad stretch marks too, but wow, cant even see you ever had them now!
Can I ask what you used on them? Or isit just they have faded in time? Im only 3 months post partum, probably why they are still visible.
    You look great!

You had the tummy of a girl, and now you have the tummy of a woman! You look fabulous.

You have a beautiful belly! Looks soft and curvy. The toned belly before was beautiful too. :)

I, too, had a “perfect” tummy before and now mine looks just as dramatically different. It’s so hard sometimes, but as you said, our children are more than worth it!

No matter what we do in life — even remaining childless — we will not be able to maintain the “perfect” body. Most of us never even have it to begin with. To hold an impossible ideal as valuable is essentially not life-affirming. Self-destructive.

I, too, had a very difficult time looking at pictures of my pre pregnancy body after I gave birth to a 8lb 13oz girl. I felt so longing for the past. My body was soooooo good and I should have appreciated it more. You look REALLY hot in that first picture and I know your pain.

i also had a very flat “pretty” belly, and when i look at pictures of me pre pregnancy i get a little nostalgic. but it also reminds me of how i simply took it for granted that i was somehow “blessed”. i have come to accept that before was just another type of me, and now i know what being blessed really means, because i have the sweetest kisses awaiting me every morning.

You look just like me!!! Before, During and After pregnancy! I Know just how you feel. Finding clothes that fit my new body and looks good is very hard for me. I find that I am still wearing maternity stuff because other clothes cut my belly in half and I get this “roll” effect. You must know, however, that your tatoo still looks rockin’
