16 Weeks Later (Anonymous)

December 27, 2010

age: 19
1 child

this is my first entry. its been 16 weeks since i gave birth and my body hasnt gone back the way i thought it would. my baby was 8lbs and 6 ounces. during my pregnancy i gained about 50 lbs and have almost lost it all but my body is just different now. even though ive lost almost all the weight im just different shaped, have extra skin, and sag in places i dont think a 19 year old should sag in. i didnt think my body would change this much with just one pregnancy, maybe with like 3 but not just one. during my pregnancy my boobs changed ALOT. they grew like crazy and the color of my nipples got really dark. everyone i talked to said the color goes back. mine didnt. they look awful and now my boobs are gross and saggy as well. i tried to breast feed but i just couldnt keep up with my baby. i have stretch marks all over my tummy and love handles and a bunch of gross extra skin on my stomach now too.i LOOVE my baby but its really hard seeing other girls my age with perfect bodies and knowing that mine is ruined for the rest of my life.

Your body is no where near ruined! It really is perfect! Your breasts are not saggy at all, they are quite full and perky. And I think you have a very nice and flat tummy. Overall I think any person who saw your body would be jealous, not appalled. :)

Your boobs look fine. Mine were dark like that few a few months. They’ll go back. Even if they don’t, you’re blessed with the boobs you have.

Hun, You look amazing!!!! You don’t even look like you have had a baby!! I wish I had your breasts after I had a baby, mine were so awful I had a boob job :( I can promise you your nipples will get lighter though, mine got very dark when I was pregnant and it took about 9 months for them to go back to almost the same color they were before, although they are a tad darker. I know exactly how you feel, I was 19 when I gave birth to my daughter and felt jealous of all my friends, but you have nothing to worry about!!! Don’t get down on yourself- you are beautiful!

Wow! You look amazing!!! Like you’ve never even had a baby. Seriously. Nothing sags either! I suggest counseling so you can see your body the way we see it.

Love handles?? Where? You have a beautiful shape! Women aren’t supposed to look like a rail. Most women would kill for the hour glass shape you have. I think you look amazing. I can’t even tell you’ve had a baby at all. My nipples took almost a year to go back to their normal color, btw.

I was 18 when I had my first child, and he did a number on my body. Search Bryana, and I think you will find just how lucky you are! :)
Believe all of us when we say that you have a beautiful body. Many women strive to look like you, even those that have NOT had babies!

What everyone else has said. You don’t even look like you had a baby and certainly not JUST 16 weeks. ago. You look amazing.
    I see zero sagging.

Your body is far from ruined. I bet a lot of women looking at this post are envious and wish they looked that good. I know I am.

Wow! It is so strange that you think your body is ruined. I honestly think it looks quite beautiful. Your breasts are nice and full and I actually think the color of your nipples is nice, though it sounds like from other posters that it will change again. You’re also so lucky that your waist remained tiny and, despite what you see, the skin on your stomach still looks pretty darn firm to me. I guess the problem is that we all know what we used to look like and keep comparing ourselves to that. But trust me honey, you are still gorgeous and young.

You are just stunning. I know it’s hard to see it for yourself right now. It may be a little different than other girls bodies, but that doesn’t mean it’s less perfect or ruined!

I didn’t feel like my body had ‘settled’ into the changes until more than a year postpartum. Give it some more time. :) You are absolutely gorgeous right now and you need to allow yourself some time to see it.

you DO look great! ESPECIALLY for 16 WEEKS?!!! It’s very hard to do,, but RELAX,,your really a WOMAN now, and look like one!! Thats a GREAT thing! I can tell you that in another three months you’ll be like,, why was I so worried? and , I’m sure you are,, but enjoy that baby, cause whew! can not believe how fast the time flies. Mine is going on 8 mo and it feels like a whirlwind. You have plenty of time to eat healthy and exercise,, time with that baby is extra precious! Congrats!

So that’s somebody else, right? Where’s the picture of you? I don’t see the body you described at all!

Teenage beauty is fleeting. I didn’t have my first baby until I was 25 and believe me, my teenage body was gone LONG before I ever got pregnant (somewhere in my sophomore year of college my metabolism just crashed, it sucked). Most men that I’ve met tell me mature women are more attractive than skinny adolescents anyway. You have a beautiful body that I would never even guess had grown an 8+ pound baby just FOUR MONTHS AGO. You’re gorgeous, mama, I hope you can learn to see that in yourself.

well I hate to say it but perhaps you have self image issues if you are disappointed with your body now? I don’t really see many marks on your skin, you are very thin & well proportioned. your breasts are beautiful, look like a mother’s should! so what’s the problem? :) be happy! love yourself!!

So..I always look at the pictures first..then read..then look again. When I looked at your picture, I sat for a second thinking your ‘post pregnancy’ picture was going to load..then I realized that WAS your post pregnancy picture! You have a body to die for little lady! I can promise you there are plenty of 19yo women that have NOT had babies that wished they looked like you.

I just want to tell you that after reading your post and looking at your pictures i find myself sitting at my computer bawling my eyes out. You call those saggy boobs?? God, mine look like an empty condom…… Where are the stretch marks?? Where is the saggy belly skin???

ma’am. You have NOTHING to complain about. If i were you i’d be LOVING my life. I was 100 lbs before pregnancy, and i didnt look like THAT. Now i’m 123 and i STILL dont look like that.
